What was the first blog you ever read?

Back in October of 2007 an acquaintance of mine sent me a link about a fellow and his dog that vacationed in the Terlingua area.  I was busy preparing for my annual trip to the chili cook-off so I did not read it until my return.  His blog is called "The Oasis of my Soul"  and it is a very personal and at times painful journey of a man trying to recoup after the untimely death of his only child and son.  His sidekick and faithful companion is his dog Spirit. That was the first blog I ever read.

In December 8, 2008 he did an outstanding article entitled "Visiting A Soulful Neighbor" which was about the now well known John Wells http://theoasisofmysoul.com /?p=5268  that was the second blog I read and where I "met" the majority of the bloggers that I now follow or whose nicks are known to me because I read their comments.

What was the first blog you ever read?

Good night.  Terlingua dreams.

  1. That's understandable. If you ask me how many I read now, I would not be able to quantify them.

  2. On a side note I have read a lot of the articles both in well known magazines and national newspapers that have been written about the Field Lab but I think Ara's article is the best one to date.

  5. I too am late in finding your blog. I always see your comments on other blogs.

I can't remember the first blog I read either. I have been an online geek for years and years, so who knows? But in the last several months I've started "following" people that I have common interests with...ie...Terlingua, poker, natural building, etc....

    I will follow you....

  7. The first blog I ever read and followed was John Wells blog. I was doing my usual self assigned homework regarding cabin construction and DIY projects for my dream cabin that I want to someday place on my property off the Terlingua Main Ranch Rd...and now yours.
