Napped my day away

Got up early this morning as today is trash day and unlike back at home in Houston where they come twice a week...here it is only one day a week...so I'm screwed if I miss putting it out.  Went to check on Walter who was eating his hay and then went back to bed.

This afternoon I turned on the weather channel to see how hot it was and fell asleep until 6:40 p.m.  I must really be tired because I have been doing a lot of napping lately :-(

Needed to run a couple of errands in town so off I went.  Stopped by Ross and I am glad to report that for once they had a fully stocked purse and wallet section but...there is always a BUT...they were going fast!  I have no idea if their Mexican clients re-sell them in Mexico or what...but these ladies buy A LOT of purses and not the cheapo ones either but the name brands.

Next stop was HEB.  We buy the majority of our groceries in Mexico but one thing we buy in the U.S. is dairy such as milk.  I do purchase Nutri Leche in Mexico but that is usually for my trip to Terlingua, as it lasts 3 months and most importantly does not need to be refrigerated until it is opened.

Went down their beer aisle to check out prices as they tend to lower them during special holidays such as Mother's Day.  Lest you forget...the Chili Cook-off is 5 months and 2 weeks away...noticed this beer on sale Frio Light Beer.

Has anyone ever heard of it before?  More importantly has anyone ever tasted it before?  If you have...I would be interested in your opinion.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. The guys over at Texas Fishing Forum were less than impressed with Frio light:

  2. I don't know but I feel if you are introducing a beer and want people to try it...the price should be more affordable taking into account this is HEB's private name brand.

I am thinking in the $12.99 to $13.99 range.

  3. I saw it in our HEB and though I like the name, I suspect it is, as some of the comments in TFF mentioned, horrible. Perhaps I'll wait for the version in bottles.

    1. I liked the name as well Dave. What I found funny is that it is a beer made for Texans but brewed in Tennessee!

Maybe will try a six pack sometime and give my own review. Oh the sacrifices I have to put myself through :)

  4. I was intrigued and bought some. They always have huge displays of it here in the Waco area. It taste like beer flavored water. Literally. I'll stick to my Bud Light.
