Another record setting day

After watching the news today and seeing the incredible hot temperatures in Arizona, Nevada and California...I feel like a whiner mentioning that Del Rio had a record setting temperature of 108 degrees.  By comparison we had a mild day.

I am getting fed up with Weatherbug so I decided to download The Weather Channel app and see if I like it better.  I most certainly do...I get to see the temperature in Del Rio, Houston and Terlingua at the same time. Must say I was so surprised to see that Del Rio and Houston had higher temperatures than Terlingua!

I did not go outside until 8:30 p.m. to water the trees and plants.  I could not believe mother's neighbors were actually having a cook out this afternoon...to each his own, I guess :-(

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  2. Oh yes, I definitively keep a close eye on Mom. Though she did not venture outside at all today.

That little cabin has made an impression on me! Now all I need is my highway frontage property out in my favorite desert.

Thank you for stopping by Mr. Rat :)

  3. My plans for any sort of weekend yard work were shot when the temps in San Antonio also hit 108. Course, we are south and west of SAT and I'm pretty sure it was easily a few degrees higher. Allegedly, we might get a few showers this morning - we'll see.

    Stay cool!

    1. We got those showers that by the way the weather guys did not even forecast at 4:00 a.m.

Not complaining though it certainly has helped the temperatures around here. It is currently 82 degrees and 2:38 p.m.

  4. We got there too. Even at 8:30 it's still up there.

    1. Hopefully the showers that came by here in the early morning hours will head your way Trouble.

  5. Go to Weather Underground (www.wunderground.com/). It is the best in my opinion.

    1. I use Weather Underground for when I want to zoom in on the weather in Houston in particular by my house. Houston being so large there are vast differences in temperatures.

  6. I was so cold in the air conditioning at work around 10pm last night I went and sat outside for about 10 min. It was still way above 100, and so hot I could feel the skin on my face drawing in. I was still kind of chilly after 10 min. It was 101 degrees as I was driving home at 1am in Phoenix. It is bearable, actually.

    1. I can only imagine how cold it must be at your work to keep the computers cool in the desert.

101 degrees at 1:00 a.m. is only bearable because it is at night. Do you turn your car A/C on at night or drive with the windows down?

  7. Air Conditioning all the time. It is bearable because I only am 'outside' to walk from building to Jeep to building, and sit outside a few minutes at work to warm up after dark.
