What a lovely weekend

Both Saturday as well as today we hit a high of 77 degrees.  Brought out all the plants, watered them and let them bask in the sunshine.  Raked leaves to keep mother happy but did not get around to watering the trees...only my mother would think of doing that in January!  Guess I will get to that chore tomorrow.

Did some hand washables...in case you are wondering...No, I have not made it to the laundromat yet :-(

Made some white rice and it turned out so bad I thought of feeding it to Waldo (the resident cat) but quickly reconsidered as that would be animal abuse.  Well, so much for my cooking abilities. I guess my tall (taller than me) weathered cowboy is going to have to add another trait to his resume...be a good cook. :D

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. Dang MsB, you missed out. I fit the bill but am already taken and quite satisfied. Too bad I don't have any brothers (grin). I am an only child.

  2. 2 1/4 cups water. Mix in 1 cup white rice. Bring to a boil, stir then turn down as low as you can & cover. Set a loud timer for 20 minutes and watch for it. At 20 min take off the heat.
I will add 1 cup cheap jared salsa with thw water, a chopped up saucage and call it Spanish rice or dinner..
    Good luck with the laundry!.

    1. Rob that is exactly the directions I followed on the package and it still came out awful :(

I am a firm believer in canned goods and fast food establishments, however, my mother is not.

Mom believe it or not does not like salsa or anything hot or spicy and sausage is definitively something she would not eat. However, your recipe sounds pretty good to me.
