Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals

As I type this it is already 98 degrees and expected to reach 100 degrees today 38 Celsius. Forecast for the coming days not much better...98 to 100 degrees.

I finally broke down and bought another "Sally Hoe". The one I have...I forgot last time I was in Houston.  Even though we were not as fortunate in the rain department as some other nearby cities, the little that fell has made the weeds grow.  I need to tackle them while I still can...it just wont be today!

Anyone watch the Pacers vs Heat game last night?  My goodness what is wrong with Lance Stephenson?  Did he really think his shenanigans were going to rattle Lebron James?  Well, the Pacers were sent home last night.

I am anxiously awaiting Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals tonight between my Spurs and OKC and I just know we are going to clinch it tonight...or at least I hope so.

GO SPURS GO!!!!

  1. I've never used a hoe like that. Looks like it would be great for weeds.

    1. Billy Bob recommended it about three or four years ago. I like it because I do not have to stoop over as I use it thus saving my back.

    3. Congratulations indeed!

I knew it would be close but we would come out victorious. I can not believe ALL the TNT announcers picked OKC to win tonight.

    4. I know - that's why I listen to WOAI even if it's not perfectly in sync with TV. Wait til we play the Heat - the national guys LOVE them! GO SPURS GO!

  3. I'm not a sports fan, but I hope all your teams outdo the competition!

  4. Watch your back - even with a hoe, turning akwardly can do damage.

A traditional hoe also has a long handle that does not require you to stoop. It was during the "Bracero" Program that the short handle hoe was widely used. The use of the short-handle hoe is now illegal in most of the states, although you still find farmworkers using it specially in south Texas and in New Mexico. I guess you still see the short handled hoes in your area and think that is the way they are all made.

    1. Thanks for the history of the short handed hoe Ed...I did not even know one existed.

With the "Sally Hoe" I can be lazy and even be sitting down. As long as I use a back and forth motion, it will wack weeds without too much effort on my part.
