Spurs Victory Parade

I have been on an emotional high since we won our 5th NBA Championship Sunday night.  If you are not into sports or do not like basketball feel free to skip this post.

Words can not convey the emotional roller coaster that has been this year's playoffs.  To me Sunday's win was the culmination of so many things.  I think you would have to be a Spurs fan to understand what I am talking about.

I have been sitting in front of the television set for six hours watching the victory parade down the San Antonio Riverwalk as well as the celebration afterwards at the Alamodome.  People drove from all parts of Texas with their entire families just to be a part of this.  This is the stuff that memories are made of.

They had to turn away people at the Alamodome as the San Antonio Fire Marshall deemed it to be at capacity.  There were between 65,000 to 75,000 fans who had gathered to thank the Spurs.

Our MVP
The parade and rally were carried live by the three San Antonio networks.  It was also streamed online and watched by people all over the United States and abroad who were tweeting their locations and appreciation.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

    1. I understand. I hate to be a wuss, but my eyes got watery a couple of times the past few days. No sobbing or bawling. just happy watering. Speaking of that, it looks promising for some wet stuff falling from the clouds in YOUR area. Yay!

    2. I understand perfectly my dear Spursbrother...the same happy watering happened to me too...after all it is not every day we win a championship.

The wet stuff got here last night and boy did we get a very good and much needed soaking.

  2. If you want to get misty eyed again there are a few really nice Spurs tribute videos floating around, mostly describing what a real "team" team the Spurs are. I love the replays of passing the ball five and six times before kicking it out to Danny or Tony or Mills for a 3 pointer. Just love that stuff.

    1. I have watched the videos on several local news webpages as well as on ESPN and the Spurs NBA page...they are a thing of beauty!

I can just imagine how many teams are going to try to "copy" the Spurs play. You know what they say...imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
