Commitment Phobia

It appears Ralph does not want to make a commitment to this relationship yet. He comes and goes...even though he was here for two days...this evening he is once again MIA.

Since I have commitment phobia as well...I have not wanted to invest $$$$ in our relationship. Decided to pay Dollar Tree a visit.

I know some might think I am being a cheap skate...but for a buck you can buy a lot of things here.  If things do not work out...well, I am only out a dollar.

While he likes his turkey hot dogs, decided he might enjoy some dry food.

They had so many toys, collars, leashes etc. etc. but that will come later...if there is a later.

Why do retailers seem to start holidays earlier and earlier each year?  We still have Labor Day yet they are already having a Pre-Season Halloween sale!

Folks it is still August!

If that was not ridiculous enough...they already have Christmas stuff on their shelves :D

Heads up...2015 Calendars and planners are in...so you better hurry because they run out fast, as I learned last year.

Even found a calendar desk pad and threw it in my cart as well.

With all the turmoil in the Middle East decided to fill-up my tank while the price is still reasonable. With your Stripes gift card $3.07 for regular unleaded and $3.51 for diesel.

It was another scorcher, we got to 100 degrees / 37.7 Celsius.  Lucky for me, it was only 96 when I was filling up.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

    1. I think that is how I became heat intolerant. Going from my air conditioned house to my air conditioned car to my air conditioned workplace.

Now that I am older I find it hard to be outside during the heat of the day.

BTW have you watched the latest commercial for the Texas lottery? A lady is featured in it that looks just like you.

    1. Wow, you don't see that everyday. What is the going price there?

  3. Costco has had their halloween costumes out for a couple of weeks. The downside to that sort of marketing is that no doubt a week before the holiday you won't be able to find anything, anywhere!

I love your header picture - it makes me feel cool and peaceful.

    1. Costco too? Lol, not even Walmart has them on display yet!

I am usually in Terlingua during Halloween so I do not get to see the availability of costumes but I bet you are right there probably aren't that many to choose from by then.

Glad you like the header picture, I feel the same way when I look at it.

  4. Can't remember which one of the dollar type stores I go to in Odessa when I'm there, but I try to load up when I do. I eat a lot of chicken noodle soup right out of the can and theirs looks and tastes exactly like Campbell's. Price difference between it and Campbell's down here is over $1 a can.

I'm managing to keep this place between 86 and 90 degrees by cycling the AC off and on and using Solar only. Unfortunately the thermostat on the AC doesn't go up to 86 so I have to cycle it by hand. No naps doing that because I have to cycle it about every 15 minutes.

    1. I so miss Joe V's (HEB's discount store) it has so many specials in canned goods that I can pretty much make back in savings the gas money it takes me to get to Houston.

Lol, I eat my chicken noodle soup out of the can too...after I have it sitting in the Terlingua sun for a while. Saves on fuel cost and water by not having to wash dishes.

Man, I don't know how you make there in the summers. All you guys that make Terlingua your home year around are tough cookies and real life survivors.
