Quality time with the critters

I am so looking forward to this weekend and the cold front they are predicting. Of course it will only drop to a high of 79 but that is better than the temperatures in the 100's we have been experiencing.

Past couple of nights I have had so many problems going online even using my little netbook.  If it is not some shock wave that fails or something similar to that, it is something else.  I am a woman of little to no patience...that is why I have not posted or been able to visit other blogs. Have seriously considered purchasing a Chrome book since I have read it has a much faster start up and it just works better with Blogger.

Remember I wanted to buy a cordless home phone at Target but they would not mail it to my P.O. Box?  Well, decided to buy one at a much higher price at Walmart.  It was a V-Tech and the darn thing only lasted me two weeks! Only reason I bought it was because I have had one for five years that I am very happy with...in particular the battery life. This time I took it back like I should have done with that worthless Stanley thermos.

The good thing about not going online is that it gave me a chance to sit outside and look at the beautiful moon and stars.  So looking forward to being able to do the same in Terlingua.

Ralph and Walter are happy too as I am able to spend more quality time with them.  Of course Ralph then ventures off to wherever it is he goes after I come inside.  While poor Walter has to stay in his prison :(

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. Wonder why is it that we enjoy not being constantly on line and find other things to enjoy, but as soon as whatever problem is solved we are right back on our computers. I loved the day of my flight to NY because I didn't use my computer all day. Same with camping.

    1. I don't know Gypsy, I have often wondered that myself.

I do enjoy being off of it especially when I go to Terlingua and then I would often take a week or two off when I returned. Well. at least before I had this blog, now my real life friends will call and pester me to start posting pictures.

  2. I have Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox loaded on my laptop. If one of them fails, usually one of the other two will work. Got to have my blogger "fix" for the day.

    1. I have Internet Explorer and Google Chrome...might just have to add a new one because recently the two that I have, have not been working for me.

    2. I just might have to look into adding a third browser because the two I have are not cutting it. I thought it was only on my main computer but I am having problems with my little netbook as well.

    3. Darn this computer, it ate up my first reply and I thought it had the same fate as some others and gone to "comment heaven". Now it all of a sudden appears!!!!!!

  3. The Chrome books are dependent on the internet, your 'stuff' is in "the cloud". If you have a solid internet connection that might do the trick for you.

My understanding about slow boot-up times is that the computer is busy starting a LOT of programs that run in the background. Maybe a visit to a good computer person for a software cleaning is in order?

    Good luck!

    3. Rob - that is the problem I do not know any good computer person and I do not want to leave my computer with a stranger.

In Houston they have the Geek squad for $99 but in Del Rio I do not have that option.

    4. Trouble - I tried your fix but now at the start when I go into Chrome it starts flashing blank pages real fast, lol, it's probably part computer and a whole lot of user error :(

    1. Yep, that little Ralph is a handful....jajajaja!

The rains arrived around eightish tonight (I guess technically last night). Hope we get some more rain tomorrow.

My wish is that rains fall on the Edwards Aquifer recharge zone so that San Antonio can come out of water restrictions. We are all hurting with this drought.

  5. Is that Walter's wall Ralph is sitting on? He's so adorable, I swear I'm gonna come & catnap that kitty!

Be great if you could get a picture of them both in the same frame.

  6. That sure is Walter's wall. Ralph just had to come supervise his feeding.

Would love to get a picture of them both but Walter does not much care for Walter. As a matter of fact Ralph got a little too close and Walter turned around like he was going to head butt him and Ralph ran like a coward and decided to stay at a safe distance :)
