Forecasters mentioned the word...SNOW!

While I do not believe a word of it...forecasters have used the word SNOW for the Del Rio and surrounding areas.  I know it snowed in El Paso and in Alpine last night but I don't really think it will reach Del Rio...we shall see.

What a difference a couple of days make. Tuesday it was 85 degrees and I had to turn on the air conditioning in my car, yesterday I had to bundle up and turn on the heater. Never fear by Sunday it will be back in the 70's and sunny....just like I like it..:D

The forecasters said it was going to be raining Thursday so among the many errands I ran on Wednesday was a trip to HEB. Billy Bob, if you are reading this...I finally got all the ingredients to make chili this weekend.  Thursday though, I made Caldo as I found some soup bones along with vegetables on sale. Not to toot my own horn but it came out pretty darn good :D

On Tuesday, January 20th gasoline prices were down six cents to $1.93 per gallon in the Del Rio area.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Spurs Corner

We got our butts beat last night by the Chicago Bulls but hopefully tonight we will prevail over those L.A. Lakers!

  1. I don't understand why our SPURS suck on national TV during the regular season. When I saw this was going to be on TNT I figured "we'll lose this one". So, although it was a loss, it wasn't a shock to your Sb.

They're showing snow in your area as of 6:00 AM radar on the TV news this morning. Is Ralph making a snowcat? I think its sticking up in Rocksprings.

Go SPURS Go - beat those pinche Lakers tonite! (I think Kobe's done for the season again)

  2. I stayed up all night waiting to snap some pictures of the snow for the blog and of course none materialized...:-(

    Lol, on the snowcat....jajajaja!

IMHO, Kobe should have retired a long time ago when the Lakers were on top but I guess money talks and bullshit walks. At least Shaq knew when to call it quits.

Hopefully without Kobe we will do better and not have to go into overtime but who knows?

    GSG!!!

  4. I've never been much of a sports fan, but living in Sacramento it was imperative to hate Shaq when he was playing. Now he is making some of the best commercials I've ever seen on TV!

    1. Not surprised about hating Shaq and I might throw in Kobe and Derrick Fisher since there was a great rivalry between the Sacramento Kings and the LA Lakers.

To be fair though most fans of other teams disliked Shaq. I vividly recall when the Houston Rockets swept Shaq who was then with the Orlando Magic...will never forget the expression on his face...he looked totally lost!

I guess I have not seen his latest commercials.

  5. Gasoline is a lot cheaper over here north of Huston. Just on one block, there were quite a difference in fuel prices at different stations.

    1. I guess I will never understand how gasoline prices are cheaper in different parts of Houston when in Pasadena, Texas where all the refineries are located they are usually higher.

I lived in Northwest Houston but my old stomping grounds were Pasadena, the City of South Houston and Deer Park.

  6. Oh yes. Went to town (Conroe) and noticed that the price of gas was $1.69 per gal.

    1. Enjoy those prices!

Last week I read that Tomball, Texas had the cheapest gas prices in the nation.

Here in West Texas price drops take longer than in the big city where there is competition.
