I am in NBA Playoff Heaven :)

My mechanic finally talked me into signing up for Dish TV.  He knows the owner of the local store and has referred many of his customers. He had previously spoken to him about my mother's concern of a satellite dish on her roof. Though there was no way around that in order to be able to get a good signal, the installer secured it around the eaves. He accompanied me to get his $50 referral fee and I got a $50 credit to my account, a win win situation.

Year after year this house across the street from the Post Office
is the first to have blooming bouganvilleas.
I had to assure mother that I would be responsible for any damages incurred.  Last Sunday and this past Wednesday were the straw that broke the camels back.  There is no reason why I should have to listen to my Spurs on the radio or online.  These are the playoffs and I want to enjoy them and watch all the action as I cheer or utter a few choice words from the privacy of my bedroom without having my mother yell at me (when we had cable it was located in the living room).

Folks I am ready. Yesterday I watched three games and while I was ready this afternoon to watch Lebron and his Cavaliers, the first fluke appeared...there was a problem with the programming. Oh well, it is not like it was a Spurs game or I would have been highly pissed!

If you do not see me much during the next few weeks...you know I am probably in NBA playoff heaven. The Spurs game will be a late one tonight.  Wonder how many people will be calling in sick tomorrow?  Go Spurs Go!!!

I can not believe it got to 90 degrees today.  We have yet to turn on the air conditioner as a cold front should arrive tonight lowering the temperatures to the 70's.

Have not had a chance to do a post on my other blog, so here is a small update. Walter has been here since Tuesday. Dulcinea joined him for three days but they took her home yesterday.  These past couple of days would have been great for washing clothes but Walter has the bad habit of smelling and licking them so I am not going to take a chance on that.

Pedrito has turned out to be a very good watch dog. If he barks, I know it is for a reason unlike the neighbors dogs that bark at anything.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. I have Dish and I like it. We have two TVs (old ones) that can be used if my wife wants to watch channel and I want to watch another one. Used to have two boxes, then they sent me an upgrade and it is only one box but can send different channels to two TVs. It is like two boxes build into one. Right now I am watching Marty Stuart on the RFDTV channel.

  2. Can you get internet service with Dish too? I have AT&T and love their internet; my son has Comcast and his is even better and faster.

Good luck with your Spurs, and enjoy watching.

    1. I went ahead and signed up for internet service as well though the installer at least was honest and told me not to expect it to be fast. Since I have never had fast internet in Del Rio and for $20.00 bucks more than I am paying for one to two bars with AT&T...I now have 150 channels and internet.

    2. I was in Del Rio last week but don't know how to get a hold of you. I got to go riding around on a boat on the lake.
