Seventeen years in the making

The temperatures this past week have been in the 100's and if you take into account the heat index, it has been ridiculously hot.  As if I did not feel lethargic enough, this heat is making me drag even more so.  This is heat in Texas and short of hopping on a plane to Argentina, there is nothing I can do about it.

I did force myself to go to the laundromat even though I did not get it all done. Seems people had the same thing in mind as I did...washing their winter blankets, bedspreads and comforters. There were not that many people there but the few who were, were using most of the washers and dryers.

Mother's nice neighbor across the street once again mowed the tall grass on the street side of her fence.  There was a lot of trash that got shredded and I felt bad not picking it up after all his hard work.  Yesterday I got up early (for me) and picked up all the trash and grass clipping before the heat became unbearable.

I saw his wife outside and even though her mother and mine are friends, I have never had a conversation with this lady.  There is always a first time and we actually had a nice conversation that was seventeen years in the making.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

    1. Enjoy your trip up north and the two degrees cooler temperatures :D

The laundromat I go to is close to my house. It is newer and nicer than the ones in the city and has COLD air conditioning.

If the GSW keep on playing as bad as they have so far, the Cavs will force a Game 7.

    2. Been waitin for your "congrats" but not being a Cavs fan I guess none are in order. Just wanted the Warrior bunch to lose so at least that happened. Only about 4 1/2 months for next SPURS season! GSG!

    3. Would you believe I am actually glad the Cavs won?

Seeing Lebron, their head coach and other players getting all emotional...but mostly because their fans went so long without a championship win...congratulations to the Cavaliers!

Another positive is that now Draymond Green is even blaming himself and rightly so for getting suspended and his team losing Game 5, his lack luster performance on Game 6 and ultimately losing their second NBA title.

    1. It was not from lack of trying in my part. I said hi to her many times and she never returned my greeting, so I started ignoring her as well.

Her mother is the sweetest lady one would ever want to meet. Every time I run into her she hugs and kisses me as if I was part of her family, in stark contrast to her daughter.

Her husband is a sweetheart as well who always waves or says hi to me as long as she is not outside.
