Sleep with the window open kind of weather

The weather has been perfect for sleeping with the window open.  There is a nice chill in the air in the early morning hours until the dogs start barking at the kids walking to the bus stop and I have to close them.

Mother is always cold, it is no wonder the electric bills are a lot higher in the winter than in the summer.  I know I will have the same annual discussion of when to turn on the air conditioning. This afternoon it is supposed to reach a high of 93 and it is not the first time we have been in the 90's even in February.

I have been trying to make it to Home Depot but have not been able to do so, it will have to wait until next week.

Barely two weeks into the new cycle and I have already exceeded my Anytime Internet usage allowance. I did not even have a chance to research how to keep videos from playing when I open a webpage.

I believe it was Gypsy who asked what Dish would offer me to renew.  They are offering to renew my contract at the same "low rate" as new customers. For the past three months, they have been rolling over my Off-Peak (2 a.m. to 8 a.m.) data to the new cycle and even so I have gone over my limit.  I am not going to sweat it, I will probably swing by our newly remodeled library and blog from there.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Spurs Corner

I am reluctantly going to watch tonight's game...I do not have a good feeling about it.

  1. I think it's such a shame you don't have better service, and more of a choice.

    1. Living in small towns has its advantages but in this case the lack of choice and competition makes me want to scream.

  3. I know quite a few people now using the library for the internet. I know I am sick of all of it myseld.

I wish I could afford that tent it would be great to use as a day room in bad weather instead of being stuck in the camper.

    1. When I moved back to Del Rio the library did not even have Wi-Fi basically most of this town was as Billy Bob called it "a Wi-Fi dead zone".

Fortunately, the library has since undergone an expansion as has its services.

  4. Just today 'they' pulled the $15 from my checking account to pay for another month of unlimited 3g verizon data. That wouldn't help much if there was not Verizon service where you were...

When I lived in Pacifica Calif (by San Fran) I had an apartment 300' from the beach. There was a huge bush outside my bedroom window so I could always leave the window open & listen to the crashing waves. THAT was good sleeping weather!

    1. Verizon had a monopoly in the residential and commercial telephone lines thus it was never granted, I guess you would call it a franchise (?) to offer cellular service. They have since pulled out of this market so they are not an option.

Wow, living 300 feet from the beach must of been wonderful and made for some great sleeping weather.
