Thunderstorms

I recall the late Ben in Texas saying that weather forecasters had the only profession where you could be wrong most of the time and yet never lose your job over it...how right he was. Yesterday, they said we would be having showers this afternoon but on today's forecast, they revised it to only a 10 percent chance.

Looking up at the sky told me that the probabilities were a lot higher than ten percent. Had to make a mad dash to get my clothes off the clothesline before they got soaked.

Thursday it also rained, I would later read that northern Val Verde County by Comstock and Langtry, Texas received over six inches!  So glad we only had a light shower in the southern part of the county.

I did not do too bad this afternoon, I harvested a little over 100 gallons of liquid gold in my primitive rain catchment system.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. I remember Ben in TX. We stopped by to visit him a couple of times. Really nice guy. We miss him.(we're kinda worried about Billy Bob)

    1. He was a character, he was going to come down to Del Rio in his new Casita trailer but alas fate had other plans for him and I never got the chance to meet him in person.

I too am worried about Billy Bob but at least I know his son, his ex and husband-in-law Harry (I love this new word he coined) are close by should he need them.

    1. I have seen how much rain you all have been getting. It was a shame to read about the family that perished as they celebrated a birthday and got swept away in a flash flood. Stay safe.

    1. I am glad he decided to return for one more season. He still has a lot of gas in the tank and his leadership skills will help all the new Spurs players that we have been signing.

However, I am very disappointed that the Spurs did not try to retain Jonathan Simmons. We let him go for a measly 20 million when we are throwing cash at an inefficient LA and I am not sure Gasol is worth all that money either. Just my personal opinion.

  4. That is a lot of water you've "caught" in your system. I love a slow gentle rain, but we don't always get what we want or like!

    1. It seems that it is feast or famine here. I too would prefer a slow gentle rain but have to work with what mother nature gives us.

With these hellish temperatures we needed the reprieve but we will be back up in the three digits by this weekend.
