Cobwebs, flies and mosquitoes

It is so humid and there are so many cobwebs everywhere including inside the house.  I have no idea where they came from.  I knock them down every day in particular by the cats' food and in a few hours, they have resurfaced once more.

Yesterday I removed so many from the garage including my car and Terlita (my broken down camping van) and today have newer ones in its place.  I have not removed the ones inside the house as I am hoping that they capture our other infestation...mosquitoes and flies.  They are all over town!

If you are headed to Terlingua later on this month you will probably find the same infestation at the Chili Cook-off.  On the plus side at least it won't be wasps...those suckers hurt when they sting you.

Yesterday it rained heavily for about 10 minutes and then sporadically for the rest of the day.  Have not heard a peep from Pollito (the yard guy) and do not expect to as today is a holiday.

Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. You might have better luck with the cobwebs if you vacuumed them, you might get the spiders too?

    1. My vacuum cleaner is in Houston. I use a broom wrapped with an old pair of pantyhose to remove them and then quickly dispose of them in the outdoor trash bin.

  2. It is so nice of you to allow so many house guests (grin). The spiders will help you get rid of some of those uninvited house guests.

    1. I do like Gypsy, I allow them to stay if they are out of the way and catching mosquitoes and flies. If they are like in my face then daddy long legs becomes daddy no legs!

  3. It may be too late but perhaps you should put on a bikini and sunbathe in the back yard so they won't leave. (Sorry me 2 movement - just trying a little lighthearted humor)

    1. Lol Andy, I am too old for him he likes his Pollitas to be in their 40's...jajajajajaja :D

On another topic I was ready to watch the pre-season game between Spurs vs Houston yesterday afternoon but could not find it. Learned that the Rockets were going to live stream it on their Facebook page but I don't do Facebook.

Then I saw that if I went to Rockets.com I could watch it there. Had to sign up with some provider but when they asked for a credit card number I backed off. With all the security breaches there is no way I was going to willingly give my information for a simple pre-game that we lost anyway. Worst yet we lost Dejoante Murray.

    2. I can't describe how much this hurts. I am one of the few who was excited about watching the new team without any expectations. Dj was THE most exciting player to watch develop up to the next level. He has no replacement now either on the team or out in free agency. Very sad.
With my ROKU I can watch a lot of stuff but not the SPURS. I can watch any other team but SPURS are blocked. We both will get to see several games on KENS-5 and WC-35. If you get TNT there will be some too. I don't know my status yet with Foxsports Southwest.
Have a good week. After T-storms today it should get real nice!

    3. I feel the same it was rather demoralizing that we lost him even before the season began. I have no expectations for this season as far as the team goes but I am heartened by the enthusiasm shown by DeRosan and the young bucks.

  4. I agree with Dizzy Dick. I never get rid of spiders unless they are really in the wrong place. I always tell them I'll let them live if they keep the other bugs away. If I have to get rid of one I try to scoop it on a piece of paper and run for the back door!

    1. I agree with both you and Dizzy but the cobwebs that are really annoying me are the ones outside which are trickier to spot. I come back wrapped in them whenever I am doing my outside chores. Even the poor cats have fallen victim to them.

  5. Well Mr. Pollito, maybe doesn't need the money so much. They say kids have no work ethics today but looks like the older generation has also lost theirs.

I sure hope you spiders get to work and get rid of the uninvited guest soon. I wouldn't pay them either LOL

    1. Actually Mr. Pollito does quite well for himself. I have personally seen Pollitas throwing themselves at him because they know he has money.

What I do not know is when did he lose his work ethic? After telling me he could get the property cleared in two to three days here we are going on day eight and no time table of when the job will be completed.
