Chilly

It has been a little chilly this past couple of days but fortunate that the rain was on the light side and that the icy conditions did not materialize.

Yesterday I made Caldo de Pollo (chicken soup) and it actually came out ok, I would give myself a C+.

I am so glad I stocked up on groceries because I do not want to be out in this weather.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Spurs Corner

I am really looking forward to tonight's game against the Toronto Raptors.  Do not promise that I won't boo Kawhi even if only from my bedroom :D

This evening I watched the OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers and their fans booed  Paul George and he was never even part of the Lakers roster!

  1. I wondered what a Texan from Del Rio considered "chilly", then I saw the word "icy"... :-)
Ice I understand! Ice is good in a glass on the ground it just sucks...
We're now in Tampa Florida and there is nothing even close to "ice" in the 10 day guess!

    1. While it is true that this part of Texas does not really have a true "winter" it does get chilly for 4 to 6 weeks of the official three months winter season.

Enjoy your warm winter stay in sunny and warm Florida!

  2. My yard is a swamp and my swamp is a lake. If it keeps up much longer I will probably grow mold all over me.

    1. Had no idea it had been raining that much in Houston. We do NOT want you to grow mold all over yourself!

  3. I would bet that you are being too modest and that others would rate your Caldo de Pollo much higher!

    1. It is kind of you to say so Gypsy. I think if I had been able to find my large pot I could have added more vegetables and I would have been able to rate it higher.

    1. Lol RedEyeMule...I too prefer menudo and though I have tried my hand at it...I have failed in all my attempts. Did I mention that the "culinary fairy" skipped me?

    1. I think "Caldo" whether beef or chicken tastes better if you can add plenty of vegetables to it. Would love to be able to cook all the yummy stuff you do...maybe one day?

These temperatures are crazy! I believe it was 36 degrees last night. Today it was a sunny day and warm in the afternoon.

      On John Wells blog:

Mr. Wells posts an icy wonderful winter land between Terlingua and Alpine.

  6. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

People who criticize the fan reaction don't understand that last year we had the team to go all the way (and win #6) but HE quit on the team thus on the fans. They built a team around HIM and he quit. All he had to do was explain his position but he never did - wouldn't even talk to coaches or teammates. His silence wasn't golden.

    1. Well said Andy!

It pisses me off when out-of-town announcers have to chime in. Last night it was Shaquille O'Neal on TNT and one of the ex-coaches turned announcer whose name escapes me.

    1. JudithK - I do not have Internet at my house in Houston so I do not even bother to take my computer.
