My new apparel aced the test

It was cold today and once again I forgot something on my list so had to drive back into town.  I wore my new Terlingua jacket and coat, I have to say that I was toasty warm. Therefore, I consider that they aced the apparel test for the Chili Cook-off.

Made a stop at the library where they had a cart full of free books. I found one that interested me until I realized what the heck I was doing...I do not need more books in the house!

Stopped and picked up some dinner plates at Stripes when I noticed that the price for gasoline was now $1.99 per gallon and I had just seen the price at HEB to be $1.85 so drove back to HEB and saved myself .14 cents per gallon.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

    1. I am glad it passed the test because in Terlingua there are no clothing stores and I would have to drive to Alpine or Ft. Stockton and would have to pay a higher price.

  2. 14¢ savings on gas, a warm coat, a great header picture and more books than you can use. Sounds like a good day!

    1. I can't remember what gasoline sold for when I started to drive but it could not have been much as my best friend and I would each chip in .50 cents and go riding around town in her car.

  4. Our gas is still over 2.10 here.
Glad your new coat and jacket passed the test, hope you make it to the Chili Cook Off this year.

    1. I hope I get to make it to the Chili Cook-off as well JO it has been a while.

$2.10 is still not bad in comparison to what others are paying in other parts of the nation.

  5. I hear ya about not adding more paperweights to the household. Val Verde County Library card holders have access to free digital books and other media.

Hoopla is nice because the transaction is simple and electronic so you don't have to physically check out or return anything. Your particular title of interest may not be available but you can search for something of interest. Contacting the librarian may be helpful.

    1. Thank you Hachita for taking the time to look up that information.

I have never heard of Hoopla-Digital as you know I am "technologically challenged" but it would be nice to be able to read something without having to physically check it out. I will definitively look into it.
