I would like to thank my faithful readers...

I would like to thank my faithful readers for all the e-mails inquiring about my absence from the Blogosphere. Just wanted to reiterate that I am fine.

A big thank you to the readers that always try to put a positive spin to my crazy posts but by now I think you must know that I am the type of person that looks at a glass as half empty rather than half full I respectfully ask that you do not try to change my essence.

If you are new to my blog, perhaps you do not know that "I go away" during the NBA finals.  While my beloved Spurs may not be in the Finals, I am a die-hard NBA fan.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

2019 NBA Finals

KSAT12 in San Antonio, Texas had a poll last week regarding what San Antonians and their local viewing area (Del Rio included) thought about the 2019 NBA Finals...

1)  Anyone but Kawhi

2)  The Golden State Warriors

3)  Do not care...Go Spurs Go!!!

If you are a long time reader...I think you can guess what MY response would be!

  1. I figure you blog when you want to MsBelinda, this is either done for fun or it's a job and it sounds like taking care of your mother is already a full time job... that & dealing with trying to keep the internet on.. :-)

As to the glass half empty or half full outlook... I figure we're all unique individuals and we are free to have our own outlook on life! (We can also change it if we want, but don't tell anyone!)

Turns out I passed within 40 minutes of a Whataburger yesterday, we were driving back from Florida & I was sleeping...but I was close!
    Next year :-)

    1. I never know what part of the country you guys are at. I was under the impression you left Florida a couple of weeks ago?

I sometimes think Whataburger is over rated. While some people always get good hamburgers my experience has been hit or miss. I am sure you will sooner or later enjoy a Whataburger and hopefully it will be up to par.

When are you guys going to attend the Chili Cook-off?

    2. I have a hard time keeping the blog even close to current. That last one was close, I wrote it Fri morn and got it put up Saturday afternoon. We went back for a one day visit because we close enough.

The Chili Cook Off in Terlingua... good question. Terlingua is a bit out by itself, plenty more to do in the area but the gas money does take planning (we're driving our house).
It probably won't be this year...probably...

    3. I hope one day you guys have the opportunity to attend.

  2. Glad to hear everything is going well there. Blogging is a fun past time, and if we don't enjoy it no point in doing it.
There is much more important things in life than blogging and for you one things that would be is the NBA finals.
As long as there there still something in your glass that is all that counts.

    1. Aside from the humidity, high temperatures, mosquitos, rain and tornado warnings everything else is going well. Mind you I am not complaining I have seen the devastation and havoc other parts of the country have experienced and we are indeed very fortunate.

From reading your blog I know you are not much into sports except for those your grandkids participate in. Has that changed now that your country is in the NBA Finals?

    2. Does not change things, just don't watch much tv and have not seen a game.

  3. We all blog for different reasons - my own is that it keeps me in contact with people at a time when I've moved away from or lost most of my friends from the past. It isn't always "fun" to write a post, but often there is something therapeutic about it. Many of my readers have become friends, and friends see you at your best and worst sometimes. And still like you!

    1. Indeed we blog for different reasons. I started mine as a Cyber Journal since I suffer from CRS and I am pretty sure I am going to end up with dementia in the not too distant future.

Hopefully, when I am in the nursing home or the nut house I will have access to a computer and my caregivers can sit me down and let me read my blog and see if it stirs up some memories.

I have to agree with you in that there is something therapeutic about writing a post and putting your problems out there, in my particular case it kind of lessens the burden and many times you get great advice.

Thanks to my blog I have made many friends that I do not think I would have had the privilege to know in my regular life. The cherry on the cake is that I have met many of them personally.

  4. You see how infrequent I blog. I started mine as a place to journal my travels and post picture of nature as I went along. I don't travel much at all anymore so I really haven't much to blog about. I do enjoy reading blogs of my blogger friends which I think of as family for the most part. If I ever come across as trying to change you don't be shine let me have it. Stay cool if that is possible in the humidity and heat. Summer found us here in Tucson. :(

    1. I found the blog you did the other day very informative as I had no idea you were a speed walker, hiker and climber. I also like when you do your decluttering as well as recipe posts.

You have obviously found your niche in other things rather than what your blog originally started as. I also consider my blogger friends as family. Some of you know more about my day to day life better than my own family or friends even though they have the same access to my blog.

Unfortunately Summer has found us as well :-(

  6. As a faithful follower I say "YOU'RE WELCOME" in response to your thank you!

I was thinking about you this morning while watching Texas Country Reporter repeat show about mesquite beans and all that is made from them. Native Americans called the mesquite tree the "tree of life" as all parts from root to bark ws used for medicinal, food and shelter use. Guess they didn't have to rake up the pesky beans (pods) like you and me.

    1. I do not know if it was you or another reader who had mentioned to me that Native Americans referred to it as "the tree of life".

If it wasn't for their darn pods and the mental anguish they caused me as a kid and later as an adult maybe I would not "despise them" as I do.

  7. Yeah, I commented before after seeing same show.

    1. Thank you for clarifying that. I was not sure if it was you or David better known as Tffnguy. Once again I will blame it on my CRS :-(
