June 2016 trip to San Antonio

On Wednesday morning we departed for San Antonio at 5:45 a.m. as we had a 10:00 a.m. appointment with the former Uvalde, Texas doctor.  With all the rains decided to pack an overnight bag in case we could not make it home.

We arrived with time to spare and she was called right way to have her labs drawn. Then we were ushered into a waiting room where we were told she would be his first patient of the day. Caught a glimpse of him coming into the building from the multi level garage at 11:45 a.m.  We saw him at 12:05 p.m.

We were on our way back to Del Rio by 1:00 p.m.  This time I did not get lost but we were stuck on 410 for a while due to a traffic accident.  In a way it was good because I got to see the businesses and restaurants that I could stop at on the way home.  It is kind of hard to do that when you are going 60 plus mph with cars on your tail.

Spotted the Harbor Freight and Academy store where I hope to be able to stop on a future trip.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

NBA Corner

I am not a fan of either one of the teams that are now in the NBA Finals.  As I watched Game 1, decided to see whom I got the most pleasure from seeing score or squirm. Came to the conclusion that I will root for the Golden State Warriors.

Wondered how the Oklahoma City Thunder felt watching the Finals and knowing that it could have been them playing and not the GSW.  Too bad, they only have themselves to blame for blowing a 3-1 lead.

  1. I'm amazed how quickly and efficiently your visit went. Hope it's a good sign for future visits.

    1. Are you talking about the doctor or the GSW?

    2. Lol, I guess I've never gotten over the 2013 Finals that we lost to the Miami Heat.

It is impossible for me to cheer for any team that has Lebron James in their roster.

    3. My animosity towards LeBum James pales in comparison to Stephanie Curry and her Golden Warriors. Muhahahahaha!

    4. However I do acknowledge how good GSW is and believe they woulda whupped the tar out of the SPURS.

    5. Thanks for giving me a good laugh...LeBum and Stephanie Curry...jajajajaja

I'm with you in believing they would have given the Spurs a good spanking. We need some youth to be injected into our team.

I was very impressed with Andre Roberson a young guy that went to high school in the San Antonio area that plays for OKC. He pretty much neutralized Kawhi Leonard during our series with them.

    6. That's an impressive and mighty fine observation and assessment of the matchup between Roberson and Leonard. I didn't even see it while it was happening before my eyes but now I realize how right you are. You should be an ESPN sports consultant! Meanwhile, pregame 4 I still say go Cavs even though it will be over in 5.

    7. Ooops...been away from the internet for a while. Waiting on the start of Game 5 in about 30 minutes.

Been out of the loop that I am just now finding out that Draymond Green was suspended for tonight's game for what he did to LeBum during Game 4. When it happened I was hoping they would go to blows so they would both get ejected.

GSW could take it all tonight or the Cavs could manage a win and extend it...frankly it does not make a bit of difference to me.

  3. I think there's a Target over there too a block or so further along down the feeder rd. at Hwy 151. Just saying.;-)

Also, I don't know how far North you were coming from & if you pass it going home from your Mom's SA doc, but there's a Henry's Puffy Tacos on that side of 410 back a little ways at Bandera Rd./AKA Hwy 16.

(Everybody has to get puffy tacos in SA at least once, you know, because that's where they were born and it's the law.)

    1. Hi Leilani! I am not very familiar with San Antonio, this is only the second time that I do not get lost.

Both doctors are in the Medical Center area. Yum, yum, puffy tacos but unfortunately due to my high cholesterol and high glucose levels my doctor has me on a strict diet :(

  4. Just checked the map, that Target is in the "Westover Marketplace" at 151 @ 410.
