Tenth day in a row of record setting temperatures...

I was outside by 6:15 a.m. feeding the cats and watering the trees before sunrise. The heat has been oppressive of late and I only venture into town early in the morning.

Wendy's was recently remodeled so I decided to check it out and stopped for breakfast. Had to move to another table as their brand-new floor was uneven. You could see someone had placed napkins on some table legs to keep them from wobbling.

I was not impressed with their breakfast sandwich as it was very salty. I had real coffee which was not a good idea as it made me jittery and gave me a headache.

I timed it to coincide with DD's opening as I did not want to wait in the parking lot. I was told last week that they might have a different color for an outdoor bistro set. Sadly they did not, just orange

I am looking for yellow or red but even Wayfair was sold out.

I found different size containers to store pet food but they were kind of flimsy.

Made a quick trip to Walmart to pick up some bananas and to check if they finally had White Claw Hard Seltzer - Black Cherry. Just like HEB they only had the variety pack and Mango flavor...what is going on?

For a minute I considered getting this to go floating down San Felipe Creek...but thought better of it :-D

Today for the tenth day in a row we set a record high in Del Rio when we reached 111 degrees.

Tomorrow we may break another record. It will be a Yellow Day with peak energy demand.

Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

It's official Victor Wenbanyama is a SPUR!!!

It feels so good to finally look forward to the start of a new basketball season and know that we will not continue on the losing streak of the past couple of years. Tonight was the 2023 NBA Draft and as all sports aficionados say...this was the worst kept secret in the NBA...meaning as the number one draft pick there was no doubt he was coming to form part of the San Antonio Spurs.

This young French man is bringing so much joy and hope to San Antonio and YES...to the State of Texas...we are overjoyed to welcome him to his new home!

The draft was held in New York City...back in his future home of San Antonio...they allowed fans into the AT&T Center which was filled to capacity and erupted when the Spurs named him as their number 1 pick.

He now joins the Elite Club of Spurs No. 1 picks...

Sophie the Spurs #1 fan could not miss the event...

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Shortage of Cat Food and White Claw Hard Seltzer / Lilac Tumbler / Dairy Queen

Even though I am up early every morning, I only make it out the door until oneish or later. I had several errands to run the first one was picking up the mail from the P.O. Box. I was pleasantly surprised that for a Monday there were hardly any people there.

Stopped by Tractor and Supply only to find that they were out of the cat food my brood likes.

Last week HEB was also out of the store brand they prefer, and the national brands have definitively increased their prices. Either way, I like to purchase my feline food at Tractor and Supply since they carry my purchases to my vehicle.

I was starving by now so stopped at Dairy Queen for a late lunch/early dinner. The hamburger tasted delicious...

I had seen a 40 oz. lilac tumbler back in April, but talked myself out of buying it only to regret it. When I returned it was no longer available.

I went by that department yesterday and there it was...except it now cost $5.00 more...grrrr! 😠 It is in one of my favorite colors so I bought it anyway.

Has anyone noticed a shortage of White Claw Hard Seltzer - Black Cherry in your area? For two months I have not been able to find any and when I have, it has been the variety pack or just the Mango flavor. I am not going to waste my money as the other flavors taste nasty to me.

Yesterday I was able to score the last ONE 6-pack package for $10.98...that is highway robbery! Since we only have two stores in town I can't do anything about it.

I try to fill up as soon as I have used 1/4 of a tank. Not wanting to fill up due to the rain and heat...it was almost down to half a tank. This is the closest I have seen Diesel $3.039 to be to Regular Unleaded gasoline $3.049...one cent difference.

I had every intention of going to Ollie's today but I was so tired from yesterday that I decided to put it off for another day. Their 15 percent off sale is good until Sunday, June 11th and mainly I want to buy some items for the cats.

Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

More rain / Tornado watch / Biting flies / Derksen Buildings

It has not even been two weeks since Sipriano mowed the yard and the weeds have once again grown due to all the precipitation we have experienced. I can not afford to have him come every two weeks like I have to do for my house in Houston. There I have no choice or I will be fined by the HOA. My yard is the size of a postage stamp whereas my mother's yard is sizeable and thus more expensive to maintain.

This past Friday, we were warned since the 5:00 p.m. news of strong cells that could impact the area.

We were also under a Tornado watch that thankfully did not materialize but it did rain.

If we did not have enough with pissy as well as fire ants we now have biting flies and wasps. I know I have fly stick paper as well as cans of wasp spray...the question is...where is it?

I have been saying I want a little cabin for years but I really need one as I can not find anything. I follow Dan of " I Allegedly", Jeremiah Babe, the Economic Ninja, and so many other economic channels on YouTube. The economic gurus seem to think that as the economy tanks so will the prices and I will be able to purchase one for half the price. I hope they are right.

It has five windows and from the outside, it looks more like a tiny house. That is the problem, I would be afraid it would be easy to break in via said windows. Priced at $12,850.00 it seems reasonable.

They had a used one but I did not like it. If I were younger I could use the loft as an area to store more expensive or less used items but let's face it...my ladder climbing days are long over...not that they ever started. 😏

The floors were a mess...

The price seemed a little high for a used cabin...

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
