We had a 3:00 p.m. doctor's appointment in Uvalde, Texas today. Anticipating that we would have our usual two to three hour wait and the fact that it gets dark by 6:00 p.m. I decided it might be a good idea to spend the night in Uvalde.
On our last visit he still had a room full of patients when we left and I fully anticipated the same scenario this time around. I decided I was tired of waiting hours and did not arrive until 4:12 p.m.
What would be my surprise but to find only two people in the waiting room. We were called within 15 minutes of arrival, saw the doctor and were out the door by 5:00 p.m. With enough daylight we made it home shortly after sunset.
I think perhaps the holidays had a lot to do with it? Actually, I do not know that for a fact but it sure felt good to turn the table on the doctor for a change :)
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
The only thing better would be to have the doctor wait on you. Your arrival time was perfect.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was Dizzy. Even though I do not think my mother appreciated it as she is a very punctual person.
DeleteIt looks like it doesn't really matter what time your appointment is - you get called in the order you arrive at the office. That would drive me absolutely crazy. I'm glad it worked out so well for you this time and you could get home before dark.
ReplyDeleteGetting home before dark was my priority due to my poor night vision.
DeleteI was very surprised he had such few patients on this occasion. Perhaps people do not want to go see a doctor during the holidays?
