For those not familiar with purple sage, it grows wild in West Texas.
Everywhere you go in Del Rio you will see them blooming in full splendor.
Went to Diablo East Marina and you could almost overlook the low lake levels with the various shades of lavender everywhere you turned.
It has been a while since we have had such pretty blooms. The fact that there has hardly been any wind has helped preserve them.
If you have a chance and live within driving distance, come and check them out...you wont be disappointed.
Good night. May you all have Terlingua and Purple Sage Dreams :)
There was a band way back when called 'New Riders Of The Purple Sage', I'd never actually seen purple sage before.
ReplyDeleteThanks for passing that along!
You're welcome.
DeleteI knew you couldn't stay away from Governors Landing campsites. The last picture gave you away. I don't stay there because of the winds blowing my trailer around.
ReplyDeleteGuilty as charged :D
DeleteI have never even seen a picture of purple sage so I'm happy you posted so many beautiful photos of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful pictures. That Purple Sage sure brightens up the area!
DeleteGlad you liked them Gypsy.
DeleteYou're welcome Dizzy.
DeleteNo such luck around here. I have lots of sage on this property, but haven't seen them bloom in years. (Since the bad drought) A lot of rain in the forecast for the next few days so I guess I can hope.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping with all the rain you have gotten lately that your area would also be in bloom. Maybe the upcoming rains of Polo will help the drought and the purple sage.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is :)
