I have often said that if I ever win the lottery, the first thing I would do would be to hire a gardener. No thoughts of a new house, my dream highway frontage lot in Terlingua, a new vehicle...a gardener would be the first thing on the agenda. Funny because I do not even play the lotto!
I have been doing everything to avoid that nasty task. Yesterday I even sat and watched some show about some woman who once weighed 450 pounds and the ordeal she has gone through to now be a size 4 (that episode is sometime this week).
From what I can tell, I think her youngest daughter had a reality show of her own or something like that. I can not believe the amount of profanity coming out of everyone's mouth including the kid. Their eating habits are terrible even I who have never had a child know better than to feed children junk food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Did I bother to change the channel? No, anything is better than yard work!
Thursday we had strong wind gusts and of course, the darn Internet went down. I am so sick of DISH...tried in vain to bring it back up so I just disconnected the darn thing and did not turn it on until this morning.
As you can see the only thing I have been up to lately is doing what I do best....procrastinating.
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
As bad as I've been feeling I still try to get out for a few minutes most days and pull weeds. Then it rains and they come back double! No fair.
ReplyDeleteGive yourself credit at least you are trying to control the situation.
DeleteSoooo........I know you read the OFM but don't follow his advice: "Don't wait. Do it now". (Maybe he is talking about having fun and not yardwork!)
ReplyDeleteI don't think Barney had yard work in mind when he wrote his now infamous phrase.
DeleteDid you watch the Rockets vs OKC on KSAT12 this afternoon? It was entertaining, heck I will sit through anything rather than do my chores.
I was doing yard work - mowing, trimming, pruning, raking mesquite beans......or maybe I dreamt that when I fell asleep on the couch. Actually I was switching between that game and college games plus a little golf from Austin thrown in for good measure when I SHOULD have been outside mowing, trimming, etc
DeleteYou had to throw in mesquite beans for good measure? Not so fast give it another month :-(
DeleteYou can get to it tomorrow... :-)
ReplyDeleteor the next day or next week...:D
DeleteRV = no yard = no yard work ja ja ja
ReplyDeleteYou are living the life Barney!
DeleteAll life should have a chance to grow, even weeds (grin).
ReplyDeleteI like your way of thinking...unfortunately my mother does not share our view.
