A beautiful winter day in the 70's...

We had a beautiful sunny winter day in the 70's today. This evening a cold front is supposed to come our way and go down to the '30s.  I am not complaining though, I have seen how cold it is supposed to get up north. My friend in Chicago is seriously questioning WHY she is even there.

Have tried to go to the laundromat but all the ones I have passed by are too full for my liking.  Decided to do some hand washing to take advantage of the strong winds that hit us this afternoon and glad I did.

Gasoline prices are on the rise but I was still lucky enough last week to fill up at $1.99 a gallon for unleaded gasoline.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. The news was saying it hasn't been this cold in Chicago in 25 years, I was living there 25 years ago. Nope, don't miss it at all.

$2.67 is the best I've seen on Key West...

    Stay warm MsBelinda!

    1. Yeap, they said it had not been this cold in Chicago in a generation. You have lived in so many places but I thought mainly in nice warm ones like Hawaii.

There is no way I could possibly live up north :-(

  2. Yes, I've been reading about Chicago. I have family in the Milwaukee area and wrote to my brother, but he seems to take it all with a grain of salt. I don't think I could handle that kind of cold any more, although in 1975 or 76, I walked with my kids across the Ohio River which was frozen. We didn't get completely across because at one point the ice was too rough to cross. My dad always said that he and my aunt walked across the river when I was a baby. It's kind of scary but I'm glad I did it.

    1. I guess people that were born there or have lived in the area for a long time are used to it I just do not think I could possibly survive in those types of temperatures.

How in the world do you remove the snow from your roof to keep it from collapsing or having to clear your sidewalks? I can't even keep up with the weeds in my yard!

I do not think I could ever walk across any river even if it was frozen solid.

  3. The gas here never went lower than 2.19 so I better go get some tomorrow before it goes up again.

I feel for all those people that will be way under the zero mark starting tonight. They showed a guy buying about 5 electric heaters. I just hope the freeze doesn't cause power outages.

    1. JO, I would go get some gas as soon as you could because it is definitively going to go higher.

Lets hope there are no power outages or that at least people have other means of keeping warm if the grid goes down.

    1. I was elated when he hit the winning shot.

Was rather perturbed when I saw how critical Pop was in his after game interview. I can understand why but to say that the Suns were robbed was way too out there for my taste.

    3. I thought I heard Sean or the other guy mention his birthday but since I wasn't near the TV did not know if I had heard right.
