Went to see the doctor Tuesday, she was very happy with the results of my labs. I have been off Statins for six months and she wanted to see if I would be able to keep my cholesterol levels down without medication.and I managed to do that.
My glucose levels also went down even though she cut my dosage in half on my last visit. She, therefore, took me off the medication...yeah!!!
I am back down to just taking my blood pressure pill. High blood pressure runs on both sides of my family and I am ok with having to take this medication for the rest of my life.
It has been raining daily and my nerves have been on edge, I do not want a repeat of last week.
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
NBA Corner
I can hardly believe the NBA Finals start tomorrow. I have not decided who I am going to root for, I disliked both equally during the regular season. However, after the dirty play by ZaZa on Kawhi Leonard, I have come to deeply dislike the Golden State Warriors.
The only bright side is that now I will be able to do what I could not during the regular season or the playoffs and that is to enjoy a nice cold beer :)
Hope to one day make my Terlingua Dreams a reality and purchase my little piece of heaven in the remote West Texas region of the Chihuahuan desert.

Finally good news!
I do not know about you but I for one, have never willingly gone to a doctor unless I was dying or at least felt like I was. When I worked in the oil industry I had great benefits that included health, dental and vision insurance.
In retrospect I wonder why I hardly ever made use of it, in particular the health insurance. I guess when one is young, we feel like we are never going to get sick or for that matter grow old. Sure wish someone would have snapped me out of the fantasy world that I lived in.
You are probably wondering where I am going with all this? Don't be impatient...I'm getting there :)
For the first time in my adult life I actually had an incredibly good lab report. The nurse practitioner was very impressed and happy with my progress. My bad cholesterol went down, the good went up. My high glucose levels came down two points and my blood pressure in now in the normal range. Add to that that I also managed to lose a fair amount of weight (don't ask...us women do like to divulge our weight).
I was so happy! Would have liked to no longer continue taking statins but I have to continue taking them at least for a couple more months. She did cut the dose in half that I was taking to bring down the high sugar glucose levels.
I know that in order to keep getting good results, I have to continue to watch my diet and eat wisely. Now in my older years I realize that these changes are going to be for the rest of my life, not just for a couple of months.
If you are fortunate enough to have health insurance...take full advantage of it.
