I got up early (8:10 a.m.) as I could not sleep any more...it was humid and hot. We finally turned on the air conditioner and mom put on a sweater (she has a cold) and all was well. Since I was already up decided an early morning trip to HEB was in order as I have not been able to go to Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila for our monthly grocery run.
Stopped at Stripes to check out their breakfast plates which are only $2.99 daily. Had been eyeing a Stripes coffee mug that will actually fit in my car's cup holder as my $1.00 Dollar Tree mug has given all it is going to give. It sells for $3.99 and the first refill is free.
You might ask yourself "Belinda, I thought you did not like coffee?" Well it is not that I do not like coffee... it does not like ME. It makes me jittery, nervous and short tempered but if I do not drink it on trips out of town...I get very sleepy. I happen to be the sole driver in our household and I do not want to wind up killing us both.
Since I was all peppy decided to go to the laundromat and get that chore over with. It was awfully hot especially since I was driving dad's car (no A/C). It wasn't until this evening that I learned it had reached 100 degrees (38 Celsius). Guess we turned that A/C just in the nick of time.
It is past midnight and I am still jittery from the coffee I drank more than 15 hours ago! See what I mean by coffee not being my friend :-(
As a side note for the readers that prefer to send me e-mails versus leaving a blog comment...I have another change for you. I do not know what the heck I did to my e-mail account terlinguadreams@outlook.com as I am not able to access it. Until further notice please use terlinguadreams@gmail.com. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
Coffee keeping you going 15 hrs later would be a tough one, then again I drink it every morning so how ever I feel 15 hrs later is normal.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about something I wanted from the store and remembered it came from HEB, no HEB up here... it will have to wait until next time.
Good luck with your email!
If you happen to remember what it is and they sell it at our local HEB, I will be more than happy to get it for you and mail it off to you.
DeleteDid you say it was humid out there in the desert?? And you, who has lived in Houston, ought to know what real humidity is. . .I love coffee and it seems to relax me. Yes, I know, I am a strange person. . .
ReplyDeleteYes Dizzy we actually do have humid days out here in West Texas lucky for me it is not an every day event like in Houston.
DeleteI think it depends on each individual how coffee affect us. The only other person I know that it has an adverse effect on, is my mother. One cup of coffee by that I mean 8 ounces and she can not sleep that night.
I love my coffee in the morning but rarely ever drink it during the day. Wow, 100 degrees just about kills me! Anything over 80 is too hot.
ReplyDeleteThe only time I drink coffee is early in the morning when we are going to go out of town. Only if I start falling asleep at the wheel will I stop and buy some later on in the day. Good thing we do not go out of town very often.
DeleteThis was our first triple digit day of the year of many to come :-(
Thanks for the reminder Ed...it has been updated.
