I had such a busy day yesterday, I had hoped to be able to take it easy today but alas we are expecting a cold front tomorrow and we were running low on groceries. Needed to run other errands and I rather do that on a warm sunny day than on a cold, windy and foggy one.
I think there is something wrong with this Spectrum modem but I do not have time to wait for a technician. I am also having problems getting Blogger to post my comments, it takes a long time to do so. Have no idea if it is my computer, the modem or Blogger...:-(
This past week I have been running around with a face mask and people look at me cautiously and ask..."do you have the flu?"...my response "No, and I want to keep it that way!". The influenza epidemic is out of control!
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
Pinche Lakers
ReplyDeleteWhat did they do now?
DeleteHopefully lose to Los SPURS tonite!
DeleteOnce again, SPURS laid an egg on TNT national TV - this time in LaLa land. Grrrrrr......
DeletePINCHE LAKERS!
To be fair most of our guys are injured. Would have liked to have seen a win but maybe they will make up for it tonight.
DeleteGuaranteed W tonite....Nuggets and not on national TV = WIN
DeleteWishing you a better today!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rob, likewise.
DeleteI have noticed quite a delay when I post a comment on someone's blog. So, it is probably blogger that is having the trouble and not our computers. All other sites I visit are acting normal.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to learn that someone else is experiencing the same delay. Hopefully, they will fix it soon as it has been going on for a few days.
DeleteI'm trying to avoid the flue also. I hope we are both successful.
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope so Gypsy.
DeleteThe slow blogger comments is blogger. It has been going on for a week now very annoying. Last night it worked now it is doing it again.
ReplyDeleteSmart to wear the mask, yes the flu is bad everywhere and the stores are lacking in refilling the sanitizer stations at the door, I make sure I always carry my own. Take care
I agree the delay is Bloggers fault. My modem is also on the brink it keeps on knocking me off the internet and starts flashing continuosly until I reboot.
DeleteI carry my own hand sanitizer as well, it is better to be safe than sorry.
If your modem gives you problems, turn your computer off(not sleep), unplug the modem and any router you may have (if it isn't built into the modem) and give them about 15 seconds, and then plug the modem back in. Give it a minute to get a solid connection and then plug the router(again, if it is separate unit) and then power on your computer.
ReplyDeleteAny time you are having a problem maintaining a network connection with your modem, you can do this. OFTEN times(not all) it will solve the problem. If you have a windoZe operating system, it is always better to do a complete shutdown, versus putting it in sleep or hibernate mode. I avoid windows like the plague for multiple reasons. I use a variety of LINUX versions. Linux and all associated software is FREE. You can download and install it to a USB drive and boot from it(after setting your bios properly) and run it without affecting your hard drive at all. Generally speaking, when something is wrong with your computer, it's windoZe. A simple, easy to understand version is Linux Mint, google it and see how to download and install it on a usb drive and get used to it. You will be glad you did.
When this happens to me, I do turn off the computer and then unplug the modem. Just in case, I do not turn it back on for at least 10 minutes but it is a hassle when I have to do it frequently.
DeleteSince you are new here you probably are not aware that I am "technologically challenged"...and that is putting it mildly...it is a small wonder I even have a blog!
Thank you for your tips though, perhaps other readers can also benefit from them.
BTW, Howdy and I have read the blogs of The Field Lab and Terlingua or Bust and all the comments over the past two months, and am going to move there as soon as the land deal is finalized and I get the hut/solar/etc together and packed up. I lived in Houston in the 90s, my brother is in El Paso and my nephew is still in Houston. That is how I found your blog. I can help you with any computer questions you have, feel free to ask. John
ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing yourself. I am a little envious that you will soon embark in your journey to the desert while mine is still a dream.
DeleteDo you plan to start a blog to document this new phase in your life? I am sure there are many people in the blogosphere that would be interested in your journey, myself included. Best of luck.

ReplyDeleteThank you, as I have read along, I also read your and others comments. I know of your desire to live there also. Don't give up! I have been searching for a permanent place to stay since I got out of the Navy in 84. Bought/had land in a few different places but was never able to go. Now it is nearer than ever, Praise GOD ! I had started one in November for a different purpose but I will include these adventures in it. This move arises from the reason I started the blog in the first place. To help others gain knowledge of what God's purpose is for this world. Seems there are very few that know the truth, as He said it would be, in these last days. Like He told the apostles when they asked what would be the signs of His return and what should they do. He stated the signs and then said when you see these things come to pass, flee and don't look back. It had a dual application, for the time when the Romans sacked Jerusalem, because their allotted time to turn from apostasy had ended (prophecy in Daniel), and now, when His second coming for His people both in the grave and the few left alive, is near. I am getting out and into a safer place, hard times are soon to come and the people of God will be persecuted because they refuse to obey man's laws instead of God's law.
