Wild weather in Texas

We have had strong winds and almost 35 mph gusts yesterday and 50 mph today. It is cold!!!!!!!!! There was snow in the Panhandle and other areas in the northern part of the state. This area was hoping for rain but at least the southern tip of Val Verde County got very little.

I was watching the national news when I saw that Pasadena, Deer Park, and Pearland, Texas were hammered by a tornado. Immediately texted my best friend who lives in that area. There was a lot of damage but thankfully only down fences, trees, and light poles, her house was not affected. They are however without power and are heading to her boyfriend's daughter's house to spend the night.

I hope no other readers were affected by the bad weather.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. Glad you are still there. Here, there was actually rain...maybe an inch, but it was nice to see, did'nt come down in a gully washer. But COLD, around 40 all day. So an inside day. But I was happy to see rain...seems like November was the last time.

    1. An inch of rain is a very nice amount. We get our news channels from San Antonio and they also got some beneficial precipitation but a lot of traffic accidents this morning...it seems they have been in a drought so long that residents have forgotten how to drive in the rain :-)

  2. OK so today it works,
Yes this is terrible weather, it has been in the mid to high 20's here and we had 3 days of wind and hard rains. We the highs for the days have been in the wide range of 50's. But the sun has been shining for about a week now.
Hope you don't lose power over this weather. Stay as warm as you can.

    1. Thankfully, we have not been in the high 20's but right at freezing. For two days it was cold and cloudy but the rest of the days the sun made all the difference during the day.

So glad we did not lose power, unlike many others throughout the state.
