Pissy Ants / Weeds / Baby Mesquites

Much like everything else climate related pissy ants and weeds arrived earlier than usual. We had rain two weeks ago and once again last weekend...that was all that was needed for the weeds and the pissy ants to thrive.

These ants are blondish and tiny and you can easily bring them inside your house.

Homemade remedies do not work in the West Texas desert and I can not use commercial sprays because of my cats.

The pesky baby mesquites are very green now...

The larger trees behind the cinder block fence are on my empty lot and are a nuisance.

I am going to enjoy the cooler temperatures because, in the next few days, it will be in the 90s.

Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. At least they don't bite. Actually, I haven't seen any of those in years. Many years. Glad they still exist, though you may not be. Maybe the fire ants have driven them out up here. They've done a good extinction job with those big old red ants who would only sting if you bothered them. I hate fire ants. A lot,

    1. While pissy ants do not bite if they come inside your home they go everywhere there is water like the sink, bath tub, shower and kitchen area.

We also have fire ants and those suckers have a mean bite!

  2. Weeds you say?? I have sprayed 4 time in 1 month and you would never know it! Since I can't spray Freds yard I know have to buy a hoe. I haven't see any pissy ants yet.

    1. I know you struggle with weeds as well. I have a hoe and a new weedeater I bought last year and have yet to take out of the box. What I need is a good gardener and those are hard to come by.

      Glad you enjoyed the memes.
