Civic Duty / Dairy Queen

Went into town to run some errands. Since I was already there headed to the County Courthouse for early voting. There was no line when I arrived but there was a steady flow of voters and that made me happy.  Please people exercise your right to vote!

It was around 3:00 p.m. and I had not eaten so decided to treat myself to a Hunger Buster at Dairy Queen.  It has been so long since I have eaten a burger and it really hit the spot.

It was humid and warm today. The weeds are multiplying by the minute...where is my TWC (tall weathered cowboy) to help me keep them at bay?

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Spurs Corner

What a game we played tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. Pop getting tossed out, Manu turning back the hands of time and all the Spurs playing lights out. It was a shame we ended up losing. Too bad LaMarcus hurt his ankle, we really needed him as well as Kawhi this evening :(

  1. I usually get a foot long chili dog when I go to DQ, with mustard!

I still think voting is a good thing, especially local elections, way to go Ms Belinda!

    1. I have never tried the long chili dog but I am sure they are delicious as most of the things DQ has on their menu.

My dad was adamant about exercising our right to vote, I guess I got that from him.

  2. Instead of a TWC, get a OHG. (Old hungry goat)

    1. Lol, that is a good one Bigfoot :D

They are a few factors that would come into play
      1) where would I get one?
      2) supposing I found one, how would I get it to mom's house?
      3) what would I do with it when he got through eating all the weeds?

    2. Meant to say "there are a few factors that would come into play".

    3. You could rent the goat out to neighbors. I really should be taking a walk around my place to look for weeds before I get the nasty letter

    4. My neighbors have lawn mowers JO, I do not think they would take the goats even if I offered it to them for free.

Unlike my house in Houston at least here I do not have a homeowner's association to deal with and that is one thing I am grateful for.

  3. I'm having the same problem with weeds and grass, and it looks like there will be very little let-up in the rain for the coming few days.

    1. At least we have not had that much rain or they would be worst. For now I am ignoring them but that can only last for so long :-(

  4. Disappointed in the loss but "the brow" is hard to contain when you don't have Gasol and LMA to compete with him. Missed important shots at the end and a stoopit turnover didn't help. Pinche Lakers next - was invited to go to the game but turned it down. Hate that ATT Center. After going to games for almost 40 years, I'm done. but......GSG!

    1. Actually I was worried since "the brow" had dropped over 50 points on his opponents in his previous game. I thought we played well that is until the last three minutes, then it got away from us due to turnovers and mental mistakes.

I had no idea you disliked the AT&T Center. Even if I lived in San Antonio I do not think I would go to the games, first I have poor night vision, second tickets cost too much and thirdly beer prices are ridiculous.

    2. Those are EXACTLY my reasons - I don't have to pay for the $120 seats (16 rows up)but still the thought of it (ripoff). I am 5'11 1/2" (started smoking before hitting 6" but quit 25 years ago)and my knees rub against seat in front of me - HATE IT! The beers are $8 plus I'm a tipper so forget the 8. I also have poor nite vision and driving home afterwards....well, just not worth it. It costs somewhere between $15g and $20g now if you get a DWI. Not in my budget. But, anyway, GO SPURS GO! (on TV) hee hee

  5. PS - took past 2 days to get my weeds under control. We'll see how long it will last. We have this "stickweed" that has taken over only in the last coupla years. It dies off when it gets warmer out but man is it pesky. Easy to pull out but sticks to everything and grows fast! I'm thinking Putin or ISIS introduced it here.
