The rains do not want to leave us. The only saving grace is that we have a few hours in between heavy downpours and I get to go outside to sweep away the rain puddles, no more bailing water. The horse pine pellets have worked very well in absorbing the excess rain that I can not capture as I am out of trash cans and five-gallon buckets.
This afternoon I was finally going to head into town when the weather guy said we were minutes away from another heavy storm. Sure enough went outside and the sky facing south (Mexico) was very black. There has been a lot of flooding in Mexico as well.
I do not drive in the rain, so I changed clothes opened a can of soup and made us another ham and cheese sandwich for dinner. That is another trait my tall weathered cowboy MUST have...he needs to be a good cook!
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
Hope to one day make my Terlingua Dreams a reality and purchase my little piece of heaven in the remote West Texas region of the Chihuahuan desert.

Civic Duty / Dairy Queen
Went into town to run some errands. Since I was already there headed to the County Courthouse for early voting. There was no line when I arrived but there was a steady flow of voters and that made me happy. Please people exercise your right to vote!
It was around 3:00 p.m. and I had not eaten so decided to treat myself to a Hunger Buster at Dairy Queen. It has been so long since I have eaten a burger and it really hit the spot.
It was humid and warm today. The weeds are multiplying by the minute...where is my TWC (tall weathered cowboy) to help me keep them at bay?
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
Spurs Corner
What a game we played tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. Pop getting tossed out, Manu turning back the hands of time and all the Spurs playing lights out. It was a shame we ended up losing. Too bad LaMarcus hurt his ankle, we really needed him as well as Kawhi this evening :(

Negotiating with Santa
July 2013 will not be a month I will forget anytime soon and neither will August 2013. Half the month is now gone and I am now playing catch-up. Had to let a lot of things go by the wayside as mother's health is my number one priority.
Thankfully she is doing much better now and I can focus on other things...like the nightmare my Houston homeowners insurance has become but that is for another blog post. All I am going to say is that Allstate or at least my agent has not lived up to the company motto of "You are in going hands with Allstate".
My back has been killing me. I am so thankful my mother is a petite lady but even as tiny as she is...it was difficult to lift and move her around when she had no strength to help me out. It really makes you think about who is going to take care of you when you reach your parents age. Having no children of my own and my family members being older than I and living in different cities, it gives you food for thought.
Dear Santa, if you are reading this I want to change my Christmas Wish List. I no longer want a Tall Weathered Cowboy...I want a Tall younger than me Weathered Cowboy to take care of me and I am willing to negotiate the tall part...maybe he can be average height? But he still has to be a cowboy!!!
It is 12:33 a.m. and I am waiting for the temperature to go down. It is still 91 degrees outside and I need to water the trees. I have not done so in two days because I have been going to bed early. The plus side in all this saga has been that I have been sleeping eight hours for a change.
For my bloggers that follow gasoline prices...this was the price at our local HEB in Del Rio, Texas today.
