Five hours and 39 minutes later...it is finished!

I took me five hours and 39 minutes but I finally finished the blog entry 2019 Terlingua Chili Cookoff - Part 2.  https://terlinguadreams.blogspot.com/2019/11/to-be-written-at-later-date.html

Be forewarned that it is a very long post where I went into a lot of detail as I explained because I could not find my spiral notebooks where I keep copious notes...lol, now I sound like the witnesses in the impeachment hearings :D

Anyway if you care to read it, it is over and done with.

Since it is afternoon I can not wish you Terlingua Dreams so have a great day instead!

  1. I always enjoyed going visiting the Terlinqua area. Maybe someday I can get back out that way.

  2. I have only just now been able to catch up on your blogs. I enjoyed hearing all about your camping adventure in part two. Your packing that small car was impressive. That is quite a lot of gear. How lovely those folks gifted you with all that delicious food! I am sorry you couldn't reconnect with some of your friends.
I read somewhere that one of the past winners did so by collecting a tablespoon of chili from every other contestant..as a joke..but then when he got 1st place, had to confess. That is hilarious! I am sure all the very best stories can't even be told.
I am so sotry your back was hurting you so badly. I hope you will try physical therapy and learn new exercises That can help.
That rental rv sounds great. But still think you could rent a cargo van from a nearby city. I looked on line and saw some for rent in Eagle Pass. Setting up the tent alone is tough.

    1. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog entries. Packing my car is a challenge every year in particular since I had not attended in two years and car camped the prior two so I forgot where things went.

I was very grateful to have been gifted so much food that lasted me well over a week.

I do not know much about the chili competition rules as neither the guys, my best friend or I have ever been judges. I had never heard that story but it just does not sound right...perhaps it happened at the other cook-off?

I do not have health insurance so physical therapy is out of the question but I am feeling much better though not so much my knee.

Eagle Pass is sixty miles away so it would be a problem to get there and then to return it and have to catch a ride back to Del Rio.

My only other option is to fix one of our dead cars and use it to get around town and in Ciudad Acuña while I slowly pack my car so I will not be in a rush at the last minute. At least I have a year to evaluate my options.

  3. Well I thought I commented but I guess not or I just forgot to hit publish.

Wonderful trip I hope you get to go to the second half. That sure was nice of those folks to give you all the left over food. Hope your knee gets better soon.

    1. You are right JO you did comment but on 2019 Terlingua Chili Cookoff - Part 2.

Not sure what you mean by second half? I really appreciated the food I was gifted particularly because this was the first year I met them.

The knee is coming along hope it gets better so I can once again start my morning walks.
