Can you believe it is the last day of January 2022? I have not gone anywhere since my last outing to HEB and I am very happy to be able to stay home.
I went back to the early days of my blog and started reading it since I am back to being an insomniac. I am so glad I started this blog as there were things I had completely forgotten about and it brought back many pleasant memories.
I had hoped that Pico would have gotten their act together after one year since their merger but they are just as bad as before. The same silly girl manning the phones and them not calling to let you know they are on the way even though I requested it. Glad I did not have anywhere to go as it took them three days to make the delivery.
The last time I placed a propane order was on March 2021 a month after the Texas freeze. The price has gone up...$3.05 a gallon if you bought more than 75 gallons...$3.15 if you bought less.
We have had two sunny days and unlike San Antonio and Houston lucked out as the rain bypassed us. However, we are expecting a cold front to hit us late Wednesday night and it could bring winter precipitation.
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
Aunty Acid
Glad you are doing OK. Up here, 200 or so miles, I am hunkering down and hoping there's not enough ice to break power lines....
ReplyDeleteIt will feel cold to you southerners though, so stay warm. Glad you've got some propane in.
I have always meant to ask what city you get your local television programming from...San Antonio or Austin? Did it rain in your area yesterday?
DeleteThat is all we can do...hunker down...and hope for the best. Stay safe and warm.
Abilene, San Angelo are the closest. But mostly I just go by the NWS office people in San Angelo on the internet for weather. I don't watch teevee much. (Too much drama.) I've got DISH if I want to watch, which is rarely. Usually only when I have company. (And that's the truth, weird huh.)
DeleteSo far, so good. We've had more than an inch of steady rain which has soaked in, and now we're going to freeze they say.
Thanks for answering would have never guessed you don't watch TV...I would die if I could not watch my cable news shows :-)
DeleteNo rain here so far but it is going to be COLD tonight.
Haha. No you wouldn't die. You could watch old movies, or something, and keep your blood pressure lower. I read. It's 19 outside right now, 11 predicted for the low. And so far, the grid has held up. I have been looking at ERCOT's website...how much juice is available, etc. Interesting.
DeleteStay warm. If it's that cold here, you southerners are going to be cold too....
I swear this darn Blogger did not notify me that I had another comment on this post. Just saw I had an ODD number of comments when it should be EVEN since I try to answer everyone who takes their time to write a comment.
DeleteYou are right I would not die...Rachel Maddow went on hiatus and tonight's show was the first without her and I am still here :D
I am not much of a movie person but I agree my blood pressure would probably be much lower...I like to keep informed, unlike some friends and acquaintances who enjoy denying the truth and live in LaLa Land.
Every day is a new argument with some company over their horrible help if no matter what country they have taking their calls even our country.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to get hit with the same cold front and out over night temps Wed. will be in the 20's. I so agree with Auntie Acid
Pico has a local office in Del Rio, and their calls are answered by one girl as it is a small office but yes, they have lousy customer service.
DeleteSo many states and people are in the path of this cold front, the only good news is that it will be nothing like our February 2021 freeze that killed over 200 people in Texas.
Aunty Acid always nails it. Stay warm and bundle up.
I've recently gone back and read all my old blogs, and it brought back so many good memories!
ReplyDeleteThat is the plus of having a blog being able to relive memorable moments in our life.
