I accomplished a lot today...

 Even though I have given up my nightly cable news shows...I thought I was replacing them with a less stressful alternative like "La Casa de los Famosos" third season. It is Telemundo's version of Big Brother VIP filmed in Mexico City for the consumption of the Hispanic audience in the United States.

It is at times maddening, gut wrenching, at others stressful, and highly addictive. Yesterday I felt bad after one of my favorites...Argentinan actor Diego Soldano...was voted out. They have a live feed on YouTube that is on 24/7. I managed to sleep two hours and was wide awake by 3:30 a.m. Gave up at 4:00 a.m. and started washing dishes.

I got an early start and went to have breakfast at the new remodeled Wendy's. The three dollar special did not look like much...so I ordered a breakfast combo with real coffee instead of my usual decaf because I needed the energy to accomplish everything on my To Do List without crashing.

Went to Ollie's, Dollar Tree, and Walmart. Ollie's always has funny signs...

At Walmart I bought more preps that included two cases of corn, one of green beans, and a case of pinto beans along with more single serving envelopes of tuna that were on sale for .80 cents each.

I prefer to purchase my groceries at HEB, as it is closer to the house and usually cheaper than Walmart. However, the corn and green beans were .50 cents each versus .78 cents at HEB.

I filled up at Murphy USA at $3.099 for regular unleaded. Diesel was $3.339 a gallon. It was two cents cheaper than at HEB.

Recycling Center / Plaza del Sol Mall

I have been carrying my recycling items for far too long in the trunk of my car. Decided today was the day to take a trip to the City of Del Rio Recycling Center and unload them. 

I wanted to go check out some stores at Plaza del Sol Mall mainly Burlington Coat Factory. The last time I was inside one was twenty years ago in Houston. This new store is located in the former Beall's department store but it somehow seems bigger than the former store was. I looked around but did not find anything I could not live without.

I am glad Burlington set up shop at the mall because even before the pandemic stores have been closing right and left. Today I saw a lot of vacant spaces. I walked over to Ross also located inside the mall and found a couple of Baggallini purses. I do not know what has happened to this brand but the quality of their purses has been on a steady decline.

Then I walked to the opposite side of the mall to Marshall's but again found nothing I could not live without.

I started watching "La Casa de Los Famosos" which is the Mexican version of Big Brother VIP.  This is a very addictive show which is streamed live 24/7 on the Internet. With my insomnia issues, I have been watching it on my old cellphone and/or my tablet but after a while, my hand hurts from holding it or the electronic gets warm.

Ollie's is having a sale this week on Pillow Pads for your small electronics for only $5.99 but you could not remove the cover to wash it. I opted for a Cozy Tablet Buddy by Total Vision that has a detachable and washable cover, space for a wireless keyboard, and five small pockets for storage of accessories for only $9.99.

I was surprised that Ollie's already had window air conditioners on sale. Perhaps I should not be because it has been hot lately though today I did not watch either the afternoon or the evening news so do not know the actual temperature we reached but I did have to turn on the car A/C.

Warm weather / LCDLF / Lost Phone

It has been very warm lately, today we reached a high of 95 degrees but did not break a record for the day. Tomorrow we might hit 100 degrees...so much for fall weather...😕

I even forgot to watch the season premiere of Saturday Night Live last week and I will miss tonight's episode as well as this evening it's "Italian Night" on LCDLF and once these people start drinking anything can and will likely happen.

I mentioned in my last post that I had a doctor's appointment on Monday, October 4th that is when I realized I had left my phone at home. I have yet to find the said phone and for the life of me can not remember the last time I used it. This is the phone I bought in May and never learned how to transfer pictures to my computer so I am still using my old phone for that.

I have an old Tracfone that I decided to keep since the minutes roll over every month but it does not work very well and I keep on getting messages from the company that I need to upgrade to a new one but I have been ignoring them. I found a new use for it...to watch LCDLF...as I do my chores since it is small and light.
