Dependent on a To Do List

For some reason, I have been waking up very early lately.  Have I mentioned that I am not a morning person?  I even considered driving to Stripes to buy breakfast tacos and hot chocolate...but the thought of having to get dressed and then put on make-up made me change my mind.

These days I need to make a To Do List or I will forget a thing or two. Yesterday I forgot to go by the bank!  So like it or not I had to make another trip to town this afternoon.

This is the third time I go to Dollar Tree looking for bread but found none.  However, I found so many other items...I saved a ton!

I was reading a new blog to me "Our Awesome Travels"  https://geosuzie.blogspot.com/2019/02/blue-sunny-skies-still-cool-wind-silly.html
and they blogged about their trip to a local pizzeria called "Silly Al's Pizza".

It has been a while since I had pizza so I headed to Domino's and came home with one. Truth be told it was not that good...too bad Silly Al's Pizza is very far away :-(

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Spurs Corner

What can I say?  You can not win a game if you have so many turnovers. Teams need to be able to win on the road!!!

A Day Shot to Hell

I was so worried about the darn car battery I barely slept.  Triple A sent a lady to jump-start my car.  She ran three tests and told me that I needed to drive around for an hour without stopping so it could re-charge.  Just what I needed, to drive for an hour with no destination and at today’s high gas prices.

The thought of a drive to Galveston did cross my mind for a minute…but only for a minute as it was close to 1:00 p.m. and my return trip would put me smack down on I-45 rush hour traffic.

So where to go?  I-45 north seemed like a good choice.  Decided to pay a visit to Huntsville State Park, since it is an hours drive from my house.  I think the drought in this part of Texas is over, everything was green and thriving. Got to the park but they had an entrance fee so I turned around and headed back home.

Found a Shell station selling gas for $3.79 a gallon and decided to fill up.  Even though I had driven for two hours without stopping, I did not want to take any chances so I filled up with the car running.  I needed to go buy groceries that are so much cheaper here than in Del Rio but was afraid the car would not start back up.

My shed was broken into again, this makes four times that I know of…this time I decided to file a police report.  Got a really nice sheriff’s deputy but I was baffled that after he took my report, he walked over to a neighbor’s house and talked to the lady that answered the door.  Sure hope she doesn’t think I told him I suspected it was her, because I did not.  I do not even know her, but the Town Crier told me she has two worthless sons that do not work or go to school and that hang around in the now vacant house next to mine.

Sure hope tomorrow is a better day and that I can cross off many more things from my To Do List.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Crossing Things off of my To Do List

The car indicator has been telling me my tire is low since last week but true to my procrastinating ways I waited until today when the tire pressure was 18 to get it fixed. They had a lot of customers but at least I can cross that off my list.

I have been meaning to write a letter but kept on putting it off. Can you believe it hurts my hand to write? I guess I have become so used to typing one and hitting the send button I have forgotten what it is like to do it longhand. It would have been easier to call them but as much as this person likes to talk it is cheaper to buy a stamp.

The only day I will go shopping at Wal-Mart is on Thursday but today I only got as far as the parking lot. Since last month that they moved their garden center to the parking lot, it did away with a lot of spaces. Add to that tons of people and cars everywhere, I decided to postpone my trip to next week.

$3.65 regular at HEB today

Went to Whataburger and there was a line almost to the door and as much as I wanted a hamburger decided this visit too could wait. I guess there must be a lot of tourists here with their families for Spring Break. I will not complain as Del Rio needs tourist’s dollars and we are grateful that they would choose our city for their vacation.

$3.65 regular at Stripes and pretty much all over town today
