A mystery and a dead battery

Went to bed at 2:10 a.m. and woke up at 5:21 a.m.  Like I have mentioned before, it is hard for me to go to sleep when I have something to do or somewhere to go the next day.  Getting up early had its rewards as I was able to make it back home to Houston by 1:18 p.m. and beat the rush hour traffic.

The first thing I noticed as I pulled into the driveway was that my grass had recently been mowed.  This is so odd.  Remember back in February when I got a love letter from the HOA?  One of my neighbors mowed my front yard (my front yard is tiny) so if one of the board members went by it would look like the violation had been corrected.  However the next day someone came by and mowed both the front and backyard.  I called the HOA and asked if it had been them but they said it wasn't...then who the heck is mowing it and why?

Was almost finished unloading my car when my noisy neighbor came out...the Town Crier.  Man what a busy body she is, has to gossip about everyone.

Made  a stupid mistake in San Antonio.  Had cleaned the windshield with the dirty solvent they have at all the gasoline stations but it left it so streaked that I had  to clean it with my own solvent.  I guess I inadvertantly turned on the headlights (even though they turn on automatically).  When  I stopped at a rest area it kept on beeping at me but I could not find anything wrong.  When I got home it did the same but I just ignored it.

Was going to go get me something to eat but the car would not unlock or beep.  Finally got it opened with the valet key but the car was dead.  Hopefully it is just a dead battery and not something else.  Since it was already late decided I would call Triple A tomorrow after the morning rush hour to have them jump it.

Was hoping to be sleepy by now, but I had two cups of coffee and some hot chocolate on the drive down so I guess I wont be getting any sleep tonight either.  If you are one of those fortunate people that can sleep like a baby, you have no idea how lucky you are.

Today's Gas Prices:

Del Rio              $3.79
Uvalde               $3.69
San Antonio      $3.69
Houston            $3.83

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. I found my grass mowed one time. Got a hefty bill from the city.
I would love to meet your nosy neighbor. Would remind me of old "pesky neighbor" Wayne.

  2. What do you know Billy Bob is up at this late hour!

That is just it, I do not live in the city I live in the county and the only one with authority to mow my grass is the HOA, but if it wasn't them...then who was it and who gave them the authorization to do so?

  3. Tell that HOA to find out!! lololol. Aren't they supposed to know all these things? I found mine mowed last year, and when i looked good, knew it wasn't the man that normally does it, soooo,,who? Found out later my son had done it.

  4. TnT - one of my neighbors that is on the board of directors is trying to find out from the management company (they outsource it) if I was on the "force mow list".
