Another beautiful autumn day

The weather geniuses have been forecasting rain for the past couple of days and to date it has not materialized.  Called the propane guy yesterday but he never returned my call.  Just to be on the safe side decided to open the gate early this morning.  Good thing I did because I can came back in and went back to sleep.

The sound of his vehicle woke me up.  I guess I am spooked after the mechanic took out the gate a while back...but this guy has a lot of experience getting in tight spaces. I even scored two calendars from him.

Decided to drive into town this afternoon and run a few errands as I definitively do not plan on going anywhere near a store this weekend or next week.  I was originally just going to buy milk, orange juice, cereal and a loaf of bread.  There is some truth when they say not to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach...I ended up spending $102.00!!!

I apologize for slacking off and not posting gasoline prices.  It seems that every time I go into town, I either forget my camera or it is in my purse in the back seat.  Click on this or any picture on my blog to enlarge it.  The going price around town for regular unleaded is between $2.20 and $2.23 a gallon.

While I was out and about, it was a very pleasant 70 degrees with clear sunny skies.  Not bad for an autumn day in December!

If you are not into basketball or are not a Spurs fan...you may exit now...

Sb - I am not a betting woman but if someone had told me that we would go into a third consecutive overtime in two days...I would have lost :(

It was so close but I guess the guys lost their legs on the third OT.  Good thing the season is still young.  I do not hold out much hope for playing the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow.  They are a rested and very tough opponent.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. !$!#!%!$!&!!$#!@!

There got that out of the way about last nite's game. I guess all the old guys will rest tonite. Mavs getting Rondo is just going to make them better. I believe our boys will have a tough few weeks until the Rodeo Road Trip. They seem to gel after that. Last year they even went on a 16 game win streak! A lot of people were writing them off. But In Pop I Trust and then there's Timmy......

    GO SPURS GO!
    IPIT!

    Yours truly,

    1. No doubt that Rondo will make the Mavericks an even more formidable foe. Hope the Rodeo road trip will once again be their good luck charm.

Was not going to listen to the game but turned the radio on a few minutes before half time. Was surprise we were leading with all the guys that are out tonight. Hope the same holds up for the second quarter.

  3. $1.69 a gallon !!! I can get gas at Costco for under $2.45 and wonder if it will go much below that.

I know what you mean about shopping on an empty stomach. It's a sure thing your cart will have things you don't need and a few that aren't good for you.

    1. Gypsy even $2.45 for your area is a very good price.

  4. The closest gas station to me at this time just dropped the price of regular a few days ago to $2.95. I can drive about 15 miles to Ajo, AZ and pay $2.75 but I doubt that it will drop below $2.00 before I leave here in February.

I'll only need to fill up enough to drive the 100+ miles to Tucson, AZ where the price is currently $2.09 to $2.15 and maybe I'll get lucky and it will stay at that level or less.

    1. What a difference 100 plus miles has on the price. I too am hoping the price stays the same or lower.

San Antonio which is 144 miles from Del Rio has gas prices below $2.00.

  5. Last time I noticed regular was still $2.80 in Study Butte. Don't have a clue about Alpine, but probably about 25 cents a gallon cheaper there. Nice here other than being 65 degrees at this time. I'd much prefer 75 or even 85!

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas and happy New Year.

    1. Study Butte always has high gas prices. I guess that is the price you have to pay for living in that beautiful remote desert.

Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well.
