Left my self imposed exile

After nine days of self imposed exile, I finally left the compound today.  Really did not have much choice as we were completely out or very low on several items.

First stop was the P.O. Box...my goodness it was stuffed with so much correspondence I could barely pull it out!

Next stop was HEB...what a difference nine days makes...lots of parking spaces and no long waiting lines at the check out counters,  Was shopping when over the loud speaker, a first at least for me happened...they announced the game score between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins.  A cheer could be heard in the store.

While I do not follow football or for that matter care for the Cowboys (do not like their owner)...I could not help but be impressed.  So maybe the reason for the lack of folks at the store was that most people were home watching it on the tube? Thank you Dallas Cowboy fans, you made my shopping experience so much more enjoyable.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Spurs Corner

Now to something I do like...my Spurs . Wonder if HEB announces their score during the game?

I just knew they would break their losing streak tonight.  I was very happy to see Patty Mills play his first game this season after his surgery. Very impressed with the performance of Cory Joseph tonight.

Sorry my Houston Rocket fan friends, tonight it was not to be.

Final Score Spurs 110  Rockets 106.

  1. Nothing like running out of everything to get you out of the house!
Not that anybody asked but I have enough underwear go for 2 weeks between trips to the laundromat or start washing clothes in the sink...

I have a bread machine & flour so bread is not a problem.

  2. I grew up as a huge Cowboys fan watching on Sundays with my dad and other relatives. Once Jerry Jones took over and the way he got rid of Tom Landry and others rubbed me raw. I have no team to root for as I liked the Oilers also until their owner pulled out of town. These guys are despicable! Thank God our SPURS are a class act! GSG!!!

    1. I share your sentiments about both Jerry Jones and the late Bud Adams. I too have no one to cheer for in the NFL, but that's OK by me.

I have my Spurs...a very class act indeed...GSG!

  3. It's nice to find a store not packed and long lines. I still haven't done any shopping except to run in for half & half on Sunday morning. Glad you were able to get out and not run into crowds.

    1. It is funny that being from Houston (so to speak) I should be used to crowds...but I am not. I guess that is why I seek the solitude of the desert.

Hope you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.
