We had a low of 71 and a high of 102 degrees today and tomorrow it is forecasted to be in the 105-degree range.
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
Great old video!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Bigfoot, glad they decided to post it after all these years!
DeleteJust glad you are Enjoying staying Safe.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
That I am Rick...nothing like staying at home and being safe.
DeleteThe title of that header picture (chain & lock around a gate) ought to be titled "No no no!"
ReplyDeleteLol, it should be but some people even with a chain and lock on the front gate still do not get it.
DeleteI really enjoyed the video and now have "visual" to go with your posts about Terlingua and the chili cook-off.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you enjoyed the video. Back then not many people had video cameras and smart phones had not been invented yet to document the event.
DeleteEnjoyed the video quite and oldie. Does it still get that crowded?
ReplyDeleteWe are now in the 80's for the rest of this week I'll be happy with that, very happy. Stay cool
Back in the '70s, there was only one Chili Cook-off. There were disagreements about the way it was being run so they ended up in court in 1983 where a judge split the cook-off into two separate events.
DeleteOne is called CASI (the one I attend) and the other The Original Terlingua Championship Cook-off (the smaller of the two).
The CASI cook-off is held on a large ranch that has now opened up several areas for campers so it will not be so crowded. However, attendance has been declining in recent years.
Would trade your temperatures in a heartbeat. We set a new record high today.
