Can you believe we are already in November 2020?

I can not wrap my head around the fact that we are already in November 2020. A month I have looked so forward to but at the same time dread.

How did you guys fare on the first day of Daylight Savings Time?  Being an insomniac, sleeping when I can, and the fact that I am retired, it does not affect me very much. It also does not affect the boys (my cats)  Paquito began to whine by my window at the same time he always does when he feels I should have already fed him breakfast.

Halloween was uneventful. Our front gate is chained and has two locks on it. Trick or treating was discouraged by the local authorities. The rowdy/drunk neighbor went out of town to visit his kids so at least on this street, it was peaceful.

It was a warm Autumn day with a high of 88 degrees and a heat index of 90 degrees.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. Actually, I feel like it is midnight and the clock says it is 8:14 PM. So. Draw your own conclusions about how I might feel. As I am old and don't have a job I can go by the sun if I want to, but when I look at the clock, I still think stuff. Maybe I should quit looking at the clock. Just like I should quit looking at the news.

    1. JudithK, I hope that if the result of the election is favorable to our cause it will cheer you up.

I should also quit looking at the news but I like to stay informed. With my poor eyesight, it gets difficult to spend so much time reading from my computer screen so I prefer to listen to the news as I close my eyes to rest them.

  2. Since we don't change the clocks it makes no difference to me. But with the darkness I would love to sleep in but the dog has a different idea of that one. I just can't wait for Tues. to be over and done with. I'm so sick of all the crap on TV and on YouTube. Of course they will still be doing the ads for Medicare.

    1. I sure wish Texas would do away with Daylight Savings Time. I am not so worried about the election as I am of the militia type people that follow Trump like he was their God and could wreak havoc on our streets if the election does not go their way.

    2. I think the law has changed in California and this is the last time we will have to move our clocks backkwards/forward. Daylight savings time made sense back in the day when tractors had no headlights, and farmers needed daylight to plant and harvest their crops.

    3. You are lucky Gypsy. Wish they would do away with it in my state as well.

  3. Adjusting the clocks never affects you the first day it's the second and third days that you feel the difference. That's why more States will choose to stay on Standard or Daylight Saving Time and stay that way. Even our Province is looking at adopting Daylight Saving Time permanently.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. With my pattern of sleep or lack thereof it has not affected me since I do not have to get up at a certain time and if I happen to be sleepy I do not hesitate to go back to bed.

We do not have a choice in Texas, I do not see that it is even up for consideration. I hope your Province is successful in adopting that measure.

  4. I don't know why we still have DST. No one likes it or benefits from it. My inner clock is completely out of kilter these days. I sleep when I am sleepy and eat when I am hungry and unless I have to deal with the outside world, I don't even think about it.
I went to the courthouse a little after nine this morning to drop off my ballot. There were a few people doing the same but no line. They had set up the ballot box near the door and my neighbor was sitting near to ask everyone if they had signed their envelopes and offer "I voted" stickers. I hope it isn't the last time I get to vote.
I wonder if we will know who won by this time next year? Maybe by January, but I'm not holding my breath. I hope I'm wrong and we find out sooner than that.
I went to the laundromat yesterday. Wanted to make sure I have that out of the way for a couple of weeks, at least. I was amazed and alarmed to see flags supporting tRump on a couple of vehicles hot ridding around. One fool had a young girl in the seat beside the man driving as he sped around recklessly. I know this happens in other places but I was truly surprised to see it here.
As of noon today more ballots have already been cast than the total of cast votes in 2016. I choose to see that as a good sign.
I know you are tucked in behind your locked gate but keep your pea shooter nearby and stay alert. I think crazy will begin in earnest tomorrow.
    Love the jokes you post!
    Stay safe my friend.

    1. I again apologize as just as in my other blog "Walter's World"...Blogger for some reason has decided not to notify me when I have a new comment and I have no idea why...grrrrrrrrr!!!

As I answer this comment it is almost 1:00 a.m. CST on November 4th. It is apparent that it might be a while until a winner is declared.

Biden gave a news conference about an hour ago and the orange idiot is supposed to give one shortly. I am switching back and forth between MSNBC and CNN and they are sighting idiot's tweets from tonight who is saying they are trying to steal the election from him.

If he comes on I may just turn the TV off and go to bed as I do not need my blood pressure to skyrocket because of this individual.

You stay safe as well amiga!
