No Electricity

Short post tonight.  The lights went out in our area around 9:00 p.m. and it is now around 12:48 a.m.  Do not know if this is just in the county or if the city is also affected.

This would not be an issue if tonight were not going to be the coldest night in the season.  It is expected to be 28 degrees tonight or so that is what the weatherman is saying and you know how I feel about weather forecasters.

One good thing about being a procrastinator is that I still have not put away my Terlingua stuff so was able to find my flashlights and camping lantern without too much problem.

Wanted to welcome long time blogger friend Tffnguy for signing on as a follower.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua dreams.

  1. Hope you'll survived the night. Was 19 degrees here at 7:15 (in the out facilities)

  2. B: Hope you stayed warm. Maybe you need a backup plan in case you lose electricity again.

We bought a generator for our trip last month to the property, and it's kinda nice knowing that if we lose power, we have something to plug a heater into.

  3. David 19 degrees is mighty cold...especially in the out facilities.

Temperature dropped to 23 breaking a record set in 1950. Lucky for us the grid came back on around 1:30 am and was able to turn on the heater.

  4. We definitively need a back up plan Terry. This usually happens during the summer months. First time it occurs in cold weather.
