If someone has $6,749,900 to invest have I got a deal for you!

While Del Rio is a small town it does not have from my point of view or that of my checkbook's... affordable housing. I saved this property a couple of months ago when it went on the market at $7,499,900 just to see how long it took for it to sell. It is now reduced to $6,749,900

Sorry, I could not make the above link work :-(

While today I barely got anything done yesterday was a busy day.  I had to go to my phone carrier's storefront as my cellphone kept on telling me I needed to remove apps as it was out of space. I have not added an app in years and supposedly after my trip to Terlingua, they had moved all my pictures to the SD card twice.

I know I need to purchase another one but I do not feel like it and it has nothing to do with money but everything to do with the principle of it all...I hate cellphones!

We did not receive very much rain but enough to remove the dust from my car only to have the boys walk on the hood leaving me their tiny footprints.

I stopped at Walmart and finally found an employee stocking their bottled water shelves who nicely put one of the 40-count on my cart. I picked up a rotisserie chicken for $4.50 for my salad. Gasoline was selling for $2.149 for a gallon of unleaded.

I lingered too long and when I came out it was almost dark.  It was not an easy drive home.

Today we had a low of 47 with a high of 76 degrees.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

  1. I%% agree with you 100% about cellphones. I tried several years ago to have a regular home phone, but for the few days I had the service the phone ran/g constantly with calls trying to sell me something, Most of them were pre-recorded. I'd love to go back to the old days of home phones where people used to just use them to talk. Now, you never see or hear many folks talking into their phone - they are staring at it like they are in a trance

    1. Gypsy you and I think a lot alike. Unlike myself my friends have pricey cellphones but no matter how pricey they cut off and the sound quality is poor.

We still have a landline telephone and use it daily.

  2. We use our's as phones and phones only. There is a little Trash Can at the very top that you have to drag the apps you don't want into.
Find yourself a pair of Night driving glasses or Dollar store yellow safety glasses. They both work equally as well.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. Rick, the Apps I want to remove I am not able to because they came with the phone though I have never used them and the phone technician told me there is no way to remove them.

It was because of my $1.00 yellow glasses that I purchased a couple of weeks back that I was able to make it home.

  3. You might try one of these links. They all worked for me and gave me the information about the ranch at:

1500 Tyras Ranch Road, Del Rio, TX

The first one is on YouTube with a lot of photos:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJrouAs2BzQ

This one confirms the price has been marked down to a reasonable price that you can now afford:

And, another one about the same property:

    1. Thank you for the links flyingdj.

However, being marked down to a reasonable price that I can afford...not in this lifetime or 100 more would I be able to come up with enough money.

  4. My old flip phone that would fit in the watch pocket of my blue jeans, died on me and you know, I couldn't find another one like it. So, I came kicking and screaming into the modern age and went to Verizon and got one of their smart phones. Yep, it is smarter than I am because I don't know how to use all the functions.

    1. I have heard that complaint from a lot of people that used to own a flip phone of not being able to find another one. The son of my HOA lady neighbor in Houston purchased a "Jitterbug phone" for her and absolutely loves it because there is no way she would have been able to adapt to a smartphone.

  5. These smart phones are a computer you carry in your pocket, they can make phone calls too!

    1. I am old fashioned Rob...I prefer using my home computer and if I need to call someone I prefer to do that from our landline.

Only reason I have a cellphone is for when I have to drive out of town.

  6. Oooh, thanks for the links flyingdj!

I don't hunt or ranch but I have lately been going crazy reading all I can about all the prehistoric cave paintings in that general area of the confluence of the Pecos, Devil's & Rio Grande Rivers in Val Verde County (the pictographs there are collectively known as the Lower Pecos River Style, & the White Shaman mural is probably the most famous) and it seems like this property has its own rock art??? AYKM? OMG, Want!
(See this pic from the listing: https://d35hljz7a9994c.cloudfront.net/styles/josser_slider_image_style_new/s3/public/property_images/2019-09-26/117709014-33.jpeg?itok=A3-KLRI6 )

I am in the process of buying a new phone, Ms. B. Like you I've been getting that notice you're getting that I am running out of space But so has my Mom & now you, which makes me verrrrry suspicious. Hmmm.

    1. You noticed the same thing I did in that video of the ranch and I was also surprised to see it. I thought that was the most interesting part about that ranch.

    2. Yes! I thought it was odd they didn't mention it in the listing itself (seems like a major selling point to me!)but on the agent's Facebook listing, the video there explicitly says it's on the property & he says it's 4,000 yrs old.

[NB: I deleted my FB acct over 10 years ago because of their privacy violations selling users' data, so now I just sign in using my Mom's acct ;-) and I'm not sure my link will work. Sorry if it doesn't!]

    3. I don't have, and never have had, a facebook account and I was able to view your link. Thank you for confirming the pictograph in the video is on that ranch and also for your other pictograph information.

Let's hope MsB invites us to the ranch after she closes on it.

    4. Hey, Leilani long time no reading you. Thanks for the link. We have been in a drought for a couple of years and I read that the pre-historic cave painting was now accessible since Lake Amistad water levels had gone down.

I read this about two years ago and that you could now visit in tours led by the Park Rangers, of course, I am referring to the paintings on caves located in federal land.

After you buy your new phone I hope you let us know how you like it.

    5. flyingdj - my only interest in that property was to see how long it would take to sell. It would take a millionaire or an oil company to purchase the property to bring their especial clients to hunt.

I can not imagine the maintenance costs or the taxes on that property.

  7. I think a lot of people have recently put their large properties up for sale. The Texas border is fast becoming a dangerous and unstable place to live.
I use my phone as a computer and even though it is smarter than I am, I enjoy being able to learn about all sorts of news not available from local sources.
I think you are right about me hitting the wrong button and deleting my comments. Sorry about that!

    1. The area where that ranch is located is prime real estate. These ranches have been in the same family for generations. The very few that come on the market are due to the owners passing away and their heirs preferring to sell the properties than having to manage them.

While the Texas Border can be dangerous in particular those that border the Mexican states of Chihuahua (where the LeBaron's were massacred ) and the state of Tamaulipas...Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila has not been impacted like say Piedras Negras and cities further inland within that state.

  8. That is a crazy price for a house these days. You need a really high paying job and a whopper of a down.

Your gas prices are always so nice and low I paid $2.36 yesterday.

I only have a cell phone now for many years, could see a reason to have 2 bills and since I was traveling I needed a cell phone.

    1. Though it comes with a lot of acreage and pre-historic cave paintings it would take a person with big pockets to come up with that kind of cash.

If one of my readers is interested please tell their real estate agent they heard about it from ME...maybe they will give me a small commission?
