Black Friday / Cyber Monday

How many of you participated in Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year?  While I did not dare venture into an actual brick and sticks store I did do some web surfing.  I wanted a cheap TV under a hundred dollars that I could watch in the kitchen where it seems I spend most of my time.

The prior television that I had there died a couple of months ago and I put my small 19-inch TV that with my failing eyesight I can barely see so I needed an upgrade.  Found two 32-inch ones while surfing one was $85.00 and the other $89.00.

I did not pull the trigger till the last minute Sunday night but I was still not convinced since I felt I could get a better deal on Cyber Monday but what if I couldn't?  I should learn to trust my inner voice. The television set I bought was $5.00 cheaper today and they had a better buy on a Smart Roku but it was too late...oh well!

The weather is back to normal for this time of the year.  We had a low of 43 with a high of 69 degrees. Even though I had the heater set on 75...I was cold!  I hope I am not coming down with something!

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

    1. That is a great buy Bigfoot.

I have one but I can't seem to find it now that I need it the most with all this wildlife that all of a sudden (?) decided to show up.

  2. We were too busy to do any shopping besides we've already celebrated Merry Thanksmas with the family and our apartment has more then it should.
Your eye problem could just be Cataracts which are easily fixed these days. It will clear your vision and you simply wear Reading Glasses.
Be safe and Enjoy the new TV

    It's about time.

    1. The last time I went to the eye doctor was three years ago and he told me I had the beginnings of cataracts on both eyes but they were not ready to come out yet.

Even if they were ready I do not have insurance so they will have to wait a couple of more years until I qualify for Medicare.

    2. What about doctors across the border?

    3. Gypsy, most border towns both in the USA and Mexico do not attract many specialists. In Del Rio you have to go to San Antonio, San Angelo or Laredo for cataract surgery.

In Mexico you have to travel to Monterrey, Guadalajara or Mexico City. When mother had her cataract surgery it was performed in San Antonio and there were quite a few wealthy Mexicans who travelled there for their surgery.

One of the ladies struck a conversation with mother and told her that Mexican doctors do not perform as many operations as their American counterparts and they preferred to come to San Antonio to have a more experienced doctor operate on her husband.

  4. I certanly would not go out on Black Friday, I did order some things from from Amazon and today I returned them all. So off to Walmart this morning to pick up replacements. My granddaughter just moved into her first Apt. and had nothing. She needed some stools for her counter so I found a really good deal on Walmart and they were still doing cyber deals and what a deal saved $36.with free delivery. I sure hope I'm done. I'll know when I gather it all together.

Over night lows have been in the 40's but the days have been between high 50's to low 60s Loving this weather of coures they are saying rain tomorrow

    1. How exciting it must be for your granddaughter to move into her first apartment. I still remember when I moved into mine thankfully it was furnished as neither my roommate or I had anything.

This is your chance to pass down the things you no longer want or need but that she could put to good use.

It was cold this morning, when I fed the boys the thermostat read 39 degrees outside. The high was 78 degrees. If you do get rain hopefully it wont be as bad as the one you had the other day.
