We have a wind advisory in effect from 7:00 p.m. this evening to 4:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time Friday. We will have sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph. I am afraid the rotting trees might not make it.
From another angle.
We will also have a much-needed rain event that could turn severe with a slight possibility of hail brought about by a cold front that is on its way. We are in the mid-'80s while the Texas Panhandle is experiencing snow and is in the '30s.
Just to be safe I parked the car in the garage. Then I went and secured the outside of the house from loose objects. Tomorrow temperatures should only reach a high of 68 with a low of 40 degrees. We will finally be experiencing pleasant temperatures.
With strong winds expected wanted to publish this in case, the power goes out as it often does even with lesser wind velocity.
Good night. May you all have Terlingua Dreams.
Camping Saying of the Day
Our westward trek normally takes us through the Panhandle. Going to miss it this year.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels on your trip and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I am sorry you and Kathy are going to miss your trek to the desert southwest but there is always next year.
DeleteThank you for your kind wishes regarding my trip.
WOW the weather you had been hoping for the last few months has decided to show up now that you are ready to leave. Hope tomorrow dawns bright and clear and you can get to take off. Safe travels and have a wonderful time
ReplyDeleteI tell you if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.
DeleteAt least we got lucky and did not get the flooding San Antonio is experiencing.
Thank you for your good wishes.
So sorry you have had a delay but hoping you will have better luck tomorrow. I try to never drive in bad weather if at all possible. Too much of a chance for an accident, especially on slick roads. That is just crazy that the weather decides to cool off just as you are ready to go.
ReplyDeleteThank you Penelope, I too try not to drive during bad weather in particular rain events.
DeleteI hope this worked out for you!
ReplyDeleteIt did Rob :)
DeleteHigh winds scare me. I think we are predicted to have one day during the coming week with 60 mph winds. With the fires burning in CA, that's all we need! Be careful and don't stand under those trees!
ReplyDeleteWe had several days of high winds while I was there.
DeleteHave not had a chance to keep up with the news but I hope the fires burning in CA did not come to fruition.
it was very nice meeting you! hope to see you next year! diana, dena, Christie, and julie
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to hear from you guys! It was a pleasure meeting all of you and hopefully can see you next year but this time with a camp so we can party properly without you all having to drive anywhere.
DeleteThank you for visiting my blog. You all take care!
Glad to see you are back and eager to hear all about your adventure! I was beginning to think you had run off with that TWC. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to meet my TWC but it was not to be...he did not show up :-(
