Where does time go?

My day started very early this morning and it never stopped until late this afternoon.  I had so much stuff to do from washing dishes, clothes, to raking leaves as well as those darn mesquite pods. Where does time go?

I had to delete several shows I recorded on the DVR as it is almost 100% full and I am told by Spectrum that there is no way I can transfer them to another format.  Makes we want to drop the cable portion and go with YouTube who has unlimited DVR recording space.

I suppose it is my fault though...anytime I record a show...it guarantees that I will not watch it.  I just simply do not have the time!

I was hoping to be able to watch my Spurs this evening but at least in my cable line-up, it was not carried. The only basketball game was on TNT and it was the Lakers vs The Golden State Warriors neither of which I am a fan of.

We had a high of 98 a low of 72 with a heat index of 100 degrees.

Good night.  May you all have Terlingua Dreams.

Reflection of the Day

  1. You did have a busy day, we don't watch much tv so no PVR for us.
And your weather starting to cool down is good.

    1. While the cool down will only last two days it is most welcomed.

  2. As Kathy says "It seems that as we age time moves faster then we can."
Be Safe and Enjoy the cooler weather.

    It's about time.

    1. To think that when I was young I thought time stood still and now like you mention it seems to move faster than we can :-(

  3. Yep, the older we get, the faster time flies. That is because our brains slow down, so time seems to speed up.

    1. I do not know the reason Dizzy but I wish time would slow down so I could savor the time I have left.

  4. I use my laptop as a DVR (broadcast TV), I can move the shows but they have to be something special to keep them.

    1. I found a software that legally lets you tape what's on television but it did not work with Windows 10 at the time. Then I had DISH and owned a TV with a built-in VCR so I could tape anything I wanted without the monthly charge of a DVR.

Unfortunately, a tape got stuck and even after I removed it...it bit the dust. Now I have Spectrum and I am stuck paying $12.99 monthly since I do not have time to watch TV during the regular programming time and not all shows I watch are available on demand.

  5. I am glad to hear you are expecting a few cool days your way. We had such a perfect sunny fall day here. Sat on a dear friend's deck in the sunshine and caught up on old adventures. She is in late stages of ALS. Lou Gerigs (s p?). Yes, time. So cruel to some.
I have not had tv in 14 years. But I do love dvd. Good movies, old and new. No commercials. We still have a video store here, so can get some tv series by rental and all kinds of movies.
My housework is not my best talent. Dishes can go for two days with no anxiety for me. Life is too short to be too fussy. People who are super organized will never feel the thrill of discovery like I do.

    1. Yes, looking forward to some cooler temperatures for at least two days.

So sorry to hear about your friend but at least she has you to be by her side in her time of need. Time can indeed by cruel to some.

You reminded me of a town that has the only existing Blockbuster left in the USA.

I can not stand to look at dishes in the sink...so my solution is NOT to see them...I hide them in my ice chest or refrigerator until I can get to them :D

  6. "my" Spurs?

We gonna start that all over again?

I looked at the TV schedule for the season. I don't get Foxsports with my ROKU so guess I will have to listen to radio for most of the games.

Looking forward to cool weather tomorrow. I have been working in this heat and it is BRUTAL.

    Have a good one. Ss.

    1. "MY Spurs" will always be how I refer to them. Unlike some other individuals that are fair weathered fans who when they are down refer to them as "YOUR Spurs"!!!

I thought you were using the Fox Sports Southwest App? Radio signal is hard to get in this part of Texas in particular inside the house.

I am looking forward to the two day cooling. It was brutal here as well as I had to do yard work.

  7. Busy, busy. I started using paper plates for most meals but seems like I always have to wash dishes anyway.

    Enjoy your cooler weather.

    1. I tried using paper plates and plastic cuttery but I found that I used pots and pans the most.

I do plan to enjoy tomorrow and hopefully I will not have to go into town.
