It has been very warm for October here in the West Texas desert. Yesterday we hit 102 and today we reached 103 degrees. Needless to say, I did not get any yard work done this weekend.
Someone came honking at 5:30 a.m. at the rowdy/drunk neighbors house and woke me up. Who the heck does that on a Sunday morning? Tried to go back to sleep but since I could not, decided to go online. Found some more memes that made me laugh and warmed my heart such as:

I was so tired I was able to take an hour nap this afternoon. This evening I watched the CNN Special, First Ladies this week's emphasis was on Jackie Kennedy my favorite First Lady of all times.

It's about time.
It has been a very hot summer even by Texas standards. Friday a "cool front" will bring the temperatures down to the high 70's.

I think Pence is sick with Covid. I haven't seen or heard of any activity since the fly landed on social media. We can only hope Karma is kicking him in the huevos, if he has any. Head of the Covid task force, indeed.
We are in full blown fall here and all the trees are just glorious in their autumn colors. We have had a cold front blow in and clear out some of the wildfire smoke.

I had either heard or read that Trump had considered putting on a Superman shirt under his regular clothes and then during his Covita moment tear open his shirt to reveal it...I dismissed it as a joke.
Last night in "The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell" on MSNBC this was confirmed to be true...wouldn't that have been a hoot? It was reported he was talked out of it by his aides.
I have not heard a word about Pence either, and I concur with your assesment...he has no huevos. Pence, along with Barr and Rudy Giuliani, have conveniently disappeared from the landscape.
I have always wanted to travel to a place where I can witness the changing of the leaves. You should take pictures and start a blog it would be a good one!
I had been wondering about the wildfires but with a constantly changing news cycle, I am not sure if they are still going on or have been put out as they are not being covered in the media anymore.
You really did get nailed with the heat, while we enjoyed some nice mid 90's BUT! tomorrow 101 which probably will be 103 for who knows how long. Seems like we just can't win with this heat this year MsBelinda.

DeleteJust for once, I would like to enjoy Autumn and the changing of the leaves that doesn't happen in this part of Texas.
Our cool down will arrive Friday, and from there on should be in the '80s. I hope your temperatures come down soon so you can start enjoying your porch.
Just so you know, there were $2 avocados in the grocery here today....I could have thrown them at my car and they would have broken the windshield. Meanwhile, a friend just reminded me of what Jackie Kennedy said when she learned she had the lymphoma that killed her: so much for all those sit-ups. It's cooled off nicely up here (300 or so miles NW) but tomorrow is supposed to be nice and hot....and yes, Friday we can all be pleased.

Wow...those were expensive avocados! No wonder you have avocado price envy! I do not know this for sure as I do not shop at Walmart that often but don't they have the same prices all over Texas?
DeleteYou could drive to Austin, Abilene, or a city near you that has a Walmart with a friend or neighbor and buy enough avocados to pay for the gasoline.
Jackie Kennedy had beauty, intelligence, a good looking husband, a beautiful family, and lots of money, and yet she was so incredibly alone and unhappy in her relationships. Both of her husbands were unfaithful and took her for granted...and the man she loved was married and did not believe in divorce.
I am so glad all the State of Texas will be back to seasonal temperatures by Friday, even if it is only for a short while.
