The cold front arrived much earlier than forecasted, I was under the impression I had until noon today but the winds and the tree limbs rubbing on the roof woke me up early this morning. Oh well, at least I got four hours of sleep. 😟
Depending on which webpage you read be it The Weather Channel or AccuWeather we are going to be in the mid-'40s until Wednesday when it will warm back to the high '60s. We have a good probability of a rain shower or two this evening as well as tomorrow and that is good news.
I do not know how you guys feel but this afternoon when it was confirmed that the GOP voted this terrible excuse of a judge to the Supreme Court while millions of Americans have already voted and the main election is only eight days away...it made me physically ill 🤮🤮🤮
JM Hegar who is running against Sen. John Cornyn in Texas and whom I fully support summarized it like this:
All this with just one week until Election Day. Meanwhile, Texans are struggling as COVID-19 cases around the country continue to rise without any sign of relief coming their way.
This whole process has been a sham -- starting as voters are already casting ballots, breaking Senate precedent to jam through the nominee, and confirming Amy Coney Barrett with just one week before voters decide who they want to make these decisions.

I absolutely abhor and despise Moscow Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, and John Cornyn. I was so incensed that I went and made more contributions to their political opponents. If you can and so desire please consider contributing to your candidate of choice so we can VOTE THEM OUT!
I am so pissed off I hope they have a repeat of the last celebration that took place at the Rose Garden for this same individual. In case you are wondering...No, I do not feel bad about saying this!
While I do not think I will be able to get any sleep tonight I sincerely hope you will.
Aunty Acid Saying of the Day
Can't say I blame you for the way you feel about the Political Sham that's happening and you can blame McConnell for that. He insisted that Eight Months was too close to the election when Obama could have chosen the Judge but it was okay for Trump to do in a Month.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Get some sleep.
It's about time.
The hypocrisy of Moscow Mitch and Lindsey Graham even when we have them on tape is unbelievable.
DeleteVote them out!!!
We are seeing the end of democracy. It's like watching a plane plummet to the ground. Of course we all hope it can pull out at the last minute, but it doesn't seem possible.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe most people even realize just how bad this mess is. I see on youtube where so many are busy shopping for Christmas decor and gifts as though everything will go back to normal after the election. They should be spending that money on food and survival gear.
I don't mean to be all gloom and doom. Miracles can happen. But chance favors the prepared.
I hope you aren't suffering from your cold temps. Forty down there is like zero for us up here. We got up to a toasty 38* today.
Stay safe my friend!
This individual even if he is not re-elected has done so much damage to our country, laws, institutions, elections, judicial branch, just to mention a few...that it is going to take YEARS if not DECADES to undo.
DeleteI agree that chance favors the prepared that is why I am doing all I possibly can to do just that. I am afraid of the chaos that will ensue after the elections with the crazies that follow this man.
I thought of you as I was freezing to death...I do not know how you do it! It would not have been so bad but the strong winds and cold rain made it miserable.
You stay safe as well amiga!
The whole political situation is so depressing. And the depression is on top of being isolated, having to wear a mask and avoid people. Being elderly it is difficult enough to stay sane and fight loneliness, but in these days it is absolutely impossible that we will come out of these times and be the way we were.
ReplyDeleteI agree this political situation is very depressing. While I am a person that sees the glass half empty rather than half full...the long lines to vote in record-breaking numbers...dare I say? Well, they make me hopeful :-)
DeleteI agree with you 100% Belinda, we need to get these disgusting things out of the White House. Every time they open their sh_thole mouth its a lie and also caught on tape and the moron keeps saying I never said that while they show the tape behind is fat orange head. And everyone of those in the picture you posted (which I love) are all the same lie and denie.
ReplyDeleteWoke up to 30 degrees this morning and the high of the day was 53 tomorrow about 59 for the high then up to 80's New furnace was bought today so it should be installed in about a week.
I am hopeful that the American people will show their disdain for these individuals at the polls, and send them packing. Though I worry about what could happen during the period after the elections and if we are lucky the inauguration of our next president. Those two months during the lame-duck session are worrisome or at least they are to me.
DeleteI am apprehensive as well. But maybe by this time next week (I'm writing on Wednesday), we'll have a better idea. Meanwhile, to occupy your time between now and then, consider this. I personally prefer ground meat whenever I eat chili. There are people who do not..From your experiences at the chili cook off, who won the most? Or did ground meat contestants even dare to enter. I feel in the minority, and hope for your answer soon.
ReplyDeleteTo be perfectly honest with you JudithK in the twenty-plus years that I have been attending the CASI Chili Cook-off I have only tasted the chili twice.
DeleteThe first time it was a very small sample and had to fork out a buck for it and it was not very good. The second time my friends and I were stuck in a trailer riding out a severe wind storm and the guy happened to be a cook and insisted on making us taste his chili. He warmed it up in a microwave and it was still cold and tasted horrible!
P.S. This is a serious question. The state of the world is also a serious question. But chili is another serious question.
ReplyDeleteForgot to answer your main question...with my CRS...I do not remember if it was ground or chili meat. All I can recall is that both tasted awful.
DeleteP.S. As you know, this is not a question from a smart ass kid. I am 75 years old.
ReplyDeleteI know JudithK, anything is better than thinking about this upcoming election that thankfully we have both already voted in.
DeleteI prefer chili meat and one time I actually made some following Billy Bob's recipe. I thought it came out ok, I think I gave myself a "C+" though I could not convince my mother to try some...jajajajaja!
P.S. I have done all I can do here in north central Texas in a small town. I have put my Biden sign in the yard, and it does not yet have bullet holes. I have also voted. So I'm going to think about chili.
ReplyDeleteRemember they did not put bullet holes in your Beto sign either. The only political signs on our street has to do with local elections.
DeleteThere is a huge Trump sign at the entrance to the subdivision and I am surprised it has not been vandalized.
With this cold weather maybe you should make some chili. I had some yesterday but mine came out of a can.
Wolf brand? Ha. So you like the chunky chili too. Well, I guess it takes all kinds. Stay warm.
DeleteWith canned chili, it is hard to tell if it is chunky or not. I smother mine with Fritos, serranos, and onions. I would love to add cheese but it would raise my cholesterol levels.
