I do not know why no matter what city I live at whether it be Houston or Del Rio, I never manage to get out the door until after 3:00 p.m. or later. Today was no different as I had to make my way to the post office on the other side of town to mail a payment. Even though neither I nor the accounting firm knows if it was on my end or theirs that they never received last month's HOA dues. This will be the second time this year that they have not received my payment, though the lady that handles our account remembers processing it. I was the one that notified them as it never cleared my bank. Mine was not the only payment they did not receive but they are blaming the Houston Postal Service.
Today I went out with my new face shield and glad I did. This area is swarming with Snout-nosed butterflies and as I went to remove the locks on the front gate they collided with my shield. They were everywhere I went! I tried photographing them but they are so small they did not show up on any of the pictures including the one below.
I stopped at the Val Verde County Library to pick up the newsletter that is put out by the League of Texas Women Voters before every state and federal election but found that it has not arrived yet. Will have to make a return trip.

I am just aghast at what is going on with tRump. A drug crazed Nazi is in charge. Speaking of Nazis, Stephen Miller tested positive. I wonder how many of the people who attended the confirmation tested positive. The ones with symptoms admit it and the ones who are asymptomatic keep spreading the virus. And the generals in the pentagon. This is some kind of coup going on. Yes, I see conspiracy. Everywhere.
We are in the top four states for increases of the virus here in Montana. It has just gone through the roof. Still see plenty of people without masks.
I checked the price of Gold Medal flour. $6.34 for ten pounds. I made chocolate cupcakes today and had fun passing them out to my good neighbors.

I have no idea if Abbott is planning to run for Governor of Texas again but I plan to get involved by volunteering for whoever decides to run against him and the "old people killer" Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick who sucks at politics just as much as he did when he was a Sportscaster in Houston. We also have our own Barr in Texas Attorney General Dan Paxton who is a criminal and needs to GO!

I bought my face shields at Walmart.com since I could pick it up in-store and not have to pay to have it mailed to me. I saw some better-made ones at Amazon.com but the postage and handling were about as much as the shields.
P.S. I do not know if you have had time to follow the new book "Melania and I" written by a former friend of the First Lady. After getting thrown under the bus she lawyered up and started taping her conversations with Melania.

I kept my composure until about the last twenty minutes and then I started shouting obscenities at Pence. The media had said he was a former radio broadcaster and could hold his own...and he did but with lies and interruptions.
I thought the moderator Susan Page was weak and let Pence go on and on...in more than one occasion...while she did not give Kamala Harris the same benefit.
Pence evaded a lot of questions or totally ignored them more than Harris did. I could not stand to look at Pence's puppy eyes as he looked at the camera. What a hypocrite!!!

I was having the same problem here with the HOA my payments are sent directly from my account to them but since thise fools don't have direct deposit the bank had to send them checks. They blamed it on the postal service and that could be possible since they are worthless they still sent be late payment notices and wanted proof from my bank that it was paid. After the first time I refused to go to the bank and get a print out and told them it was time to update their system. The worry about the stupids things around here anymore. Just can't wait to get these repairs done so I can put this place on the market. I will never live in another place with and HOA.

I do recall you having problems with your HOA crediting payments to your account. I knew you were doing repairs to your house but I had no idea you were planning on selling it.
DeleteUnfortunately, in Houston, most subdivisions have very strong HOA's. That is one good thing about living in the boonies of Val Verde County...no HOA's!

ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I missed the fly! The first time I heard about it was on CNN after the debate. They also mentioned that the internet was going crazy about it. I am not on social media therefore, I will have to rely on you and cable news to keep me informed.
I am sure the Late Night comedians will have a field day about it tomorrow night.
I can barely wait to see what the comedians will do with this. Also the pink eye he had. I didn't watch, since I have not got a tv, but after going on line I saw plenty of clips. I listened via MTPR and at the end of the debate they mentioned the fly and when I googled "pence fly" I saw hundreds of Twitter memes and youtube videos. They will mention this fly for the next thirty years. We can only imagine his reaction when he found out! "Mother!" "They are picking on me!" Sorry, I am still chuckling this morning. The best thing is the Biden campaign is using a fly swatter as a fund raiser. Jajaja SNL is going to be fun.....
