Yesterday I made a quick trip to Walmart but I got so busy watching the Vice-Presidential Debate and then commenting about it that I did not get a chance to make a post. Stayed up until the early morning hours just laughing at the memes creative individuals made about the fly on Pence's head.
Of the ones I could post this was my favorite. I wanted to put it in my last post but with this new Blogger format it is difficult to update a post so I just made it my temporary header picture.
Upon arriving at Walmart I headed to the produce section to stock up on salads but I just did not feel like buying any...frankly I am sick and tired of salads. The price of avocados caught my eye as the HEB ad had theirs selling for much more.
I was down to my last serrano pepper but only bought a few because they were not so fresh. Then I headed to the bakery and bought some muffins and a carrot cake...I suppose my blood sugar was low. I had never tried their potato salad as on the few occasions we purchase some we do so at HEB. Who puts onions in potato salad? Never again...
Headed to the clothes clearance section and picked up a couple of well-priced items. Made me a little sad as this is what I usually do in preparation for my Terlingua trip that will not take place this year...😥
In lieu of a salad bought some cans of Progresso Light soup. I also picked up a couple of boxes for the boys to nap in.
We continue to have wonderful temperatures in the 60's during the morning and afternoons in the low 90's.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe you don't like onions in your potato salad. I love onions and put them in or on everything. Also bell peppers. I like to make macaroni salad. Not pretentious pasta, just good old southern mac salad.
Carrot cake is my absolute favorite cake. That looks delicious.
I am jealous of your avocado prices. Wow! They are a buck fifty here for the small ones.
I am still hoping they drag tRump out and put him in a nice padded room. Or cell.

DeleteWhile I love onions and also put them on a lot of things...potato salad is not one of them. I like macaroni salad but it has been years since I have eaten some.
Houston has always had great prices on avocados like three for a dollar at Joe V's the discount store owned by HEB. I think the prices could be lower in Del Rio as after all we are on the border and the trucks do not have to go very far.
I like Walmart's carrot cake because you can taste and see the sliced carrots.
Every day I think this guy can not go any lower and he surprises everyone. How can he invite 2,000 people to an event at the White House when we do not know if he is still positive for Covid-19? Then he plans a rally on Sunday? I hope people are wiser than that and stay away from this future massive spreader event.
It looks like he will be headed to a cell as well as the kiddos. Is this why he is acting even crazier than usual...to lay the groundwork for an insanity plea? Makes one wonder...

Not such much as a peep from Pence today, that I could find. If Pence is too sick for the election or takeover of power, and tRump is out, Nancy steps in until January. But tRump can still run, after that.

I had never heard that saying...I like it! My knowledge of sayings is limited to the Spanish language as I picked up so many from watching Colombian and Mexican soap operas.
DeleteIf we were living in Pre-Trump times I would have faith that the 25th would be invoked but with these spineless Republicans who are afraid of a presidential tweet or being mocked, it is not going to happen.
I found it funny that Moscow Mitch said he had not been to the White House in months because of their COVID-19 or rather lack of protocol. Is he trying to distance himself from his leader?
After the night I had to watch that first presidential debate without a single adult drink in the house I made sure to remedy that. I of course can not drink much as I am on medication.

Ahhh. I see Penelope is also envious of your avocado prices. At first when I looked through the photos I took it personally, but I see there are other frustrated avocado lovers. I have a friend in San Diego with an avocado tree. Their Labrador eats them right up when they are on the ground. They have more than they can eat or give away. Kind of amazing isn't it.

DeleteSan Diego, CA. has the perfect climate for growing avocado trees. Her Labrador is a lucky dog! My best friend lives in Deer Park (a Houston suburb) and she has had luck growing avocado trees from their seed. I have never seen them will have to ask her if they are producing yet.
